There are many in our community who are struggling with the challenges of homelessness – including the new layer of COVID 19 on top of the issues they battle. I once struggled with homelessness and addiction and have been clean for a few years now. As a part of my personal journey and redemption story, I launched Lisa Lee’s Ray of Hope Kitchen in August 2019. Lisa Lee’s Ray of Hope Kitchen provides hot meals and resource referrals to homeless and impoverished individuals in Charlotte – particularly in the Westside areas. This organization will focus on bridging physical, mental and soul nourishment to people struggling with challenging life situations as I did for so many years. We desire to provide hot meals on a weekly basis and have already served 720 meals since the beginning of this year. Now, since the beginning of April it's 3x's out of the week. We have served 600 hot meals, over 100 new outfits for women and men. Also, during this pandemic we have provided bandannas for safety, toys and clothes for the kids while they are out of school and to help take some of the stress off the parents while out of work. Our goal is to love our neighbor's, feed one,feed all, that no one should go hungry physically, emotionally or spiritually. The main goal is each one, reaching all that no one will be without. To continue our success and to be able to expand to help more people, we need the assistance of businesses – like yours and people like you – to provide healthy nourishing meals.
