Celebrating Local Impact in Haywood County!
At our 2025 Western Region Member Meeting & Community Awards Celebration, Canopy Realtor® Association and Canopy Housing Foundation proudly awarded $26,000 in community grants and scholarships to support housing stability, nonprofits, and promising students in Haywood County.

-$20,000 awarded to 5 nonprofits addressing housing needs
-$6,000 in scholarships to 3 inspiring high school seniors
-Made possible by dedicated Realtor® referrals and the Western Region Committee

Since 2020, we’ve invested over $100,000 into the Haywood community—and we’re just getting started. Thank you to everyone making a difference where we live and serve!

CHRISTMAS SHOPPING MADE EASY!! Canopy Housing Foundation Holiday Auction is now open for preview with bidding starting on Black Friday. Please share the bid site with everyone you know ... it is open to the public. Remember, any item that is won by a Haywood resident will see those funds returned right back here to Haywood County to address unmet housing needs!!

Canopy Housing Foundation, through the generosity of Realtors®, has invested $97,200 in Community Grants to assist area nonprofits, Haywood Habitat for Humanity, and scholarships. This year, $26,000 will be distributed. Celebrating its fifth anniversary in the western region of our state, this is made possible by leadership of the Canopy Housing Foundation Western Region Committee. Congratulations to all recipients!

Canopy Housing Foundation supports the Haywood County Schools Foundation through scholarships. Each student received $1,000:

𝗣𝗮𝘆𝗴𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘀𝘀
Payge is a senior at Tuscola High School with a 4.1 GPA. She is a member of the JROTC. Payge wants to attend Salem College and major in interior design. She is proud to say that she will be the first one in her family to attend college.

𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗱𝘆 𝗚𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲
Grady is a senior at Pisgah High School with a GPA of 4.0. He wants to attend Haywood Community College and earn a degree in Industrial Maintenance. His hope is to stay here in Western NC so he can be close to the mountains he loves.

𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗹𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲
Charles is a senior at Haywood Early College and ranked first in his class with a GPA of 4.78. He wants to attend Western Carolina and become an elementary school teacher with hopes of returning to Haywood Co and teaching here.

Canopy is pleased to announce that Haywood Habitat for Humanity received $3,500 to partially fund the kitchen cabinets and countertops at a home being built in Chestnut Park. Their Realtor® Referral was Amy Valliere, Allen Tate Realtors® / Beverly-Hanks Realtors®

In 2020 Haywood County became part of the Canopy Housing Foundation Habitat Support Program which includes Mecklenburg, Iredell, Cabarrus, Gaston, Stanly, Anson-Union, and Lincoln Counties.

We had an amazing event giving out $17,200 in Community Grants, $3,000 to Haywood Habitat and 3 one thousand dollar scholarships to a Tuscola, Pisgah and Haywood Early College graduate!!!!

𝗖𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗽𝘆 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗙𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲𝗱 $𝟮𝟰,𝟱𝟬𝟬 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝘆𝘄𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝘆!
Canopy Western Region members gathered for the annual Community Grants Celebration. Since its inception, Canopy Housing Foundation has distributed $30,200 and this year will distribute an additional $17,000 for a total investment-to-date of $47,200 in Haywood County Community Grants.

Congratulations to all of our grant and scholarship recipients and we look forward to what we can do together in the future to help our Haywood community!

Our 2023 Canopy Housing Foundation Community Grant cycle is now open and below is the flyer / application. This is open to any non-profit here in Haywood County that is assisting in some way with housing issues. The organization does not actually have to be building affordable housing but perhaps they have a program that impacts those struggling with unmet housing needs. We encourage those groups who are thinking outside the box and making an impact in our community. Please remember that, although these grants are open to any non-profit here in Haywood, they MUST have a Canopy Realtor® member recommendation letter.
