What was hurt IN me? 💔

One of the obstacles to our own healing, even when it comes to religious trauma, is our inability to reflect with self-awareness. To dig deeper into the discomfort and ask more questions about the root of our pain.

’s book “Theology That Heals” comes out August 11th but we’re giving you a preview on the Becoming Church podcast this Sunday.

After you listen, join for the FIRST 🎙️ beyond the mic segment on Substack for an extended conversation on how theology can heal what theology has previously hurt.

So much understanding of Old Testament stories comes from learning only part of the story. With a little cultural context, we can learn so much more about who God is.

If the story of Abraham and Isaac has always sat a little funny with you, or pointed to a God who delights in human suffering, this message on Genesis 22 will redefine what sacrifice as a Christian really means.

We’ve got a lot to thank God for. 🙌🏽🙌🏾🙌🏼

From worship to prayer to conversations after service, the Holy Spirit is moving at Mosaic.

If you’re trying to find the goodness of God on your own, we’d love to help you see where he’s already present. Join us Sunday! 9:00 or 10:30

God doesn’t require your sacrifice to prove how much you love him.

So what is keeping you from trusting a God who sacrificed it all for you?

“What do you think? With God on our side like this, how can we lose? If God didn’t hesitate to put everything on the line for us, embracing our condition and exposing himself to the worst by sending his own Son, is there anything else he wouldn’t gladly and freely do for us?” Romans 8:31-32 MSG

From August 1st-16th, we’re partnering with Bags of Hope to help provide weekend meals for local students experiencing food insecurity.

Many of the children they serve rely on free meals during the school week, and your generosity helps ensure they have food to eat at home on the weekends, too.

We are collecting:
• Canned pasta
• Ramen
• Hormel Compleats
• Mac & Cheese
• Small jars of peanut butter
• Boxes of oatmeal packets
• Canned vegetables or fruit
• Boxes of individual snack items (granola bars, crackers, etc.)

Donation bins will be available in the foyer at Mosaic, or items can be shipped to Mosaic Church, 10624 Metromont Pkwy, #302, Charlotte, NC 28269. You can also give financially by selecting “What If Everyone” as the gift type.

Thank you for helping us be a voice of hope in our community. 💚

Wouldn’t it be easy to believe God if…

There was proof?
Everything always worked out?
We could explain hard situations?
There were answers for suffering?

God is not a domesticated diety that we can control. We can’t manage his behavior or even manipulate him to do the things that would make our lives easier.

If you need help seeing an uncontainable God as a good thing, catch last week’s message on Job. Then join us tomorrow at 9:00 or 10:30 as continue to learn more about who God really is.

Who is God when life doesn’t make sense?

Your theology might offer explanations for why bad things happen, but God doesn’t always provide the answers that we’re hoping for.

In the book of Job, God never gives an explanation for the pain, grief and suffering that defined years of his life. And yet, it’s a story that invites us into trusting a God who is bigger than our understanding.

If you find yourself questioning who God is or how God can be good amidst suffering, this message will remind you that no matter what else is going on in the world, God is still personal enough to be with you in your pain.

A lot of people will tell you who God is.

Our definitions of God are always entangled with our own experiences, biases, learned interpretations and cultural bends. God is big enough to exist among all of them.

But if you really want to know the true nature of God’s heart, you need to see him with your own eyes.

We’re praying that this week’s message on Jonah will help you see God more clearly through the opinions of everyone else.
