If you’re new here, here’s a little of our story.

When we first stepped into Iquitos, we didn’t expect it to change the course of our lives.

In a place marked by extreme poverty, we encountered something powerful—people full of strength, resilience, and hope. What began as short-term visits slowly became something more. We couldn’t ignore the sense that we were being called to stay.

So, we did.

Rise Together began on a dusty soccer field—just a few kids, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, and a willingness to sit, listen, and learn. No big plans. Just the start of relationships.

And those relationships changed everything.

Those early conversations grew into a thriving after-school program. As we walked alongside the children day by day, we began to see deeper needs—and we’ve let those needs shape the path forward. Over time, we met their families, listened to their stories, and began walking with them too—offering support and helping parents start small businesses.

Along the way, another need became clear: access to dental care. Today, our dental team travels deep into the Amazon to provide treatment to communities who have often never received it before.

We may be small, but we are mighty—anchored in local relationships and driven by a community that believes real change is personal, practical, and possible.

Together, we’re helping families rewrite their stories and rise toward futures full of opportunity.

Some moments stay with you.

Recently, I sat in on one of our personal finance classes with our entrepreneurs, and I walked away reminded of something I don’t think about often enough: The knowledge that shapes our lives isn’t always equally accessible.

For many of us, lessons about money, decision-making, and long-term thinking come early—so early we don’t even realize how much they’ve shaped us. For others, those same lessons come later… and when they do, they carry a different kind of weight.

Because they have the power to change everything.

What I witnessed in that classroom wasn’t just learning—it was a shift. A new way of seeing. A growing sense of ownership, confidence, and possibility. A reminder that this work goes far beyond information.

It’s about access.
It’s about dignity.
It’s about giving people the tools to move forward with clarity and purpose.

Moments like that stay with you. And they remind us why this matters so much. 🤍

Our recent dental camp brought care to families in one of the most remote regions we serve—because access to healthcare shouldn’t depend on location.

We’re especially grateful to be proud recipients of grants from the Oral Health International Foundation and the International College of Dentists-USA Section—support that is helping fund our 2026 dental campaigns and make moments like these possible.

7 New Dreams Taking Shape ✨

We’re excited to welcome 7 new students into our Entrepreneurship Program this year.

This group represents a wide range of backgrounds and life stages—some young and still studying, others raising families, each coming from different stages of life. What unites them all is one shared dream: to start a business of their own.

Over the months ahead, they’ll work to develop real business plans while building the skills and confidence needed to bring their ideas to life.

Over the years, we’ve learned that one of the biggest predictors of success isn’t just a good idea—it’s mental resilience. That’s why this year we’re placing an even greater focus on life coaching, helping our students strengthen their mindset alongside their business skills.

We can’t wait to see where their ideas lead. 🌱

At the beginning of a new year, I’m reminded how uneven the starting lines of life can be. Around the world, a child’s future is often shaped simply by where they are born.

Years ago, God led me to Iquitos, deep in the Amazon, and to a small village called Cabo López. There, I met a boy who changed everything.

He was angry. He struggled in class. He pushed people away. But with time, patience, and love, the walls began to fall.

Four years later, he sits in class, raises his hand, and even seeks me out to share his thoughts. To some, that may seem small. To us, it’s everything.

This is the work — slow, faithful, unseen. And it’s only possible because of those who choose to walk alongside us. As we step into this new year, I just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for believing, for giving, for staying with us through the long game. You are part of his story too.
