Piedmont Charter Students Win Noon Optimist Club's Essay Contest
Viktoria Adamovicova, a student at Piedmont Charter Academy, recently won the Noon Optimist Club’s essay contest. The theme for the essay was “Who is an everyday hero that brings out the
optimism in you?” Chloe Downey and Sharon Perdomo, also of Piedmont Charter Academy, placed second and third respectively.
Viktoria was awarded a certificate for the honor. In addition, the essay has been sent to the district level to be judged along with winners from other Optimist Clubs in the district. College scholarships are available for top winners at the district level.

"Viktoria did a wonderful job of articulating this year’s theme. She expressed herself well throughout the essay and deserved this honor” club President Jay B. Smith said.
The Noon Optimist Club has been participating in the Optimist Club Essay Contest for 20-plus years and has been active in the community since the 1940's. The Club also sponsors
an annual Oratorical Contest.
