World Family Doctor Day (WFDD), observed on May 19, is a significant occasion that highlights the vital role and contributions of family doctors and primary care teams in healthcare systems worldwide. Since its declaration by WONCA in 2010, WFDD has become an annual celebration recognizing the central role of family doctors in delivering personal, comprehensive, and continuous health care to patients.
This year’s theme, “Compassionate Care in a Digital World,” emphasizes the importance of balancing technological innovation with human connection in medicine. MCMS applauds family doctors for demonstrating that compassionate care can flourish in a digital world and for working together to ensure that every digital innovation strengthens rather than weakens the relationships at the heart of primary care.

The Health Workforce Well-Being Day of Awareness is observed annually on March 18 to recognize the widespread burnout affecting the U.S. healthcare system and to advocate for stronger mental health support for healthcare workers. Established to coincide with the anniversary of the Dr. Lorna Breen Health Care Provider Protection Act, the day serves as a call to action to prioritize clinician well-being and improve workplace environments.

Together, we must continue to prioritize the well-being of those who care for others and ensure our healthcare workforce is supported, valued, and able to thrive. At MCMS, we remain committed to supporting the well-being of our healthcare professionals today and every day.
