Dire Urgency! We have been asked to step in by another organization to try to help a woman in need of a LIVER TRANSPLANT. To be put on the transplant list, she needs to have a stable living environment. Please read her story below:
Kristina came to this area from Colorado to take care of her ailing father full time. Right before he passed, she found out she has liver problems. When her father passed, she became homeless. We see this often, the primary caretaker becoming homeless. She has spent the last two months in the hospital and only released this week. She is terminal and needs to have a stable living situation before she will be put on the transplant list. She goes to Duke next week and MUST have her housing figured out by then.
We are asking for short-term housing to get her on the transplant list. She is applying for HUD housing and will be put at the front of the waiting list for that. However, there isn't enough time between now and next week to get a place.
She has an income and can pay some. PLEASE if you or someone you know has a place that she can move into this weekend, short-term, message us as soon as you can.
