šŸ›‘ EVERYONE šŸ›‘

šŸ’š JOYFUL BLESSINGS NEEDS YOUR HELP. AND I NEED YOU TO PLEASE READ THIS.šŸ’š

I'm going to be blunt because sometimes that's exactly what it takes.

We are asking for help, and the donations are simply not coming in.

But the need? The need hasn't slowed down. Not even a little.

People are still hungry. People are still sleeping outside. People are still wearing the same clothes for days because they have nothing else. There are people in our own community who don't know where their next meal is coming from.

And while we scroll past another post asking for help, someone out there is praying for the very things we take for granted.

A warm meal.
A clean pair of socks.
A bottle of water.
A blanket.
Someone to look them in the eyes and remind them they haven't been forgotten.

JOYFUL BLESSINGS CANNOT DO THIS ALONE.

We aren't asking anyone to empty their bank account. We're asking people to care enough to do SOMETHING.

You don't have to be wealthy to make a difference. You don't have to donate hundreds of dollars. You don't even have to spend money.

Have extra blankets? Donate them.
Clothes sitting in your closet? Donate them.
A few dollars to spare? Every bit helps.
Can't give anything? SHARE THIS POST.

And please, don't underestimate the power of sharing. The person who sees your share might be the person who can provide exactly what we need.

Here's something I want everyone to think about:

If you were the one sleeping outside tonight, hungry, cold, and wondering whether anyone cared, wouldn't you pray that someone would stop and help?

We talk about loving our neighbors. We talk about being the hands and feet of Jesus.

But love isn't just something we say. It's something we DO.

James 2:17 reminds us that faith without works is dead.

I'm not posting this to shame anyone who genuinely cannot give. I understand that times are hard for everyone.

I'm posting because I refuse to believe that a community full of good-hearted people can't come together to help those who have so little.

We need donations. We need supplies. We need people willing to show up. And we desperately need this message to reach beyond our little circle.

Please don't assume someone else will take care of it.

Be the someone.

🧳 Donate if you can.
šŸ™ Pray if you can't.
🌬 Share this post whether you can donate or not.

A SHARE COSTS NOTHING, BUT IT COULD CHANGE EVERYTHING FOR SOMEONE WHO HAS NOTHING.

Love,
Karra šŸ’œ
Your slightly dramatic, very passionate Joyful Blessings narrator.
Now go share this post before I have to write another novel. šŸ˜‚šŸ™

There is one moment from serving with Joyful Blessings that I don't think I will ever forget.

And honestly, it changed something in me.

We were serving food one day, and there were people lined up waiting for a meal.

Then I saw her.

My birth mother.

She was standing in that line waiting to get food.

Our eyes met.

For a second, I didn't know what to do. There were so many emotions that hit me all at once that I turned around just to take a breath.

And when I turned back around…

she was gone.

She had left without getting any food.

My heart sank.

And in that moment, something happened inside of me that I still have a hard time putting into words.

For so much of my life, when I looked at her, I saw everything attached to our story. I saw the hurt. The choices. The things that happened. The things that didn't happen. I saw my birth mother and all the emotions that came with that.

But standing there that day, knowing she had been in a line because she needed something to eat…

I stopped seeing her through my hurt.

I saw a person.

I saw a woman who was hungry.

I saw someone who needed help.

And most importantly, I saw one of God's children.

That moment broke my heart in a completely different way.

Because how many people do we pass every single day without knowing their story?

How many people do we look at and only see homeless, addict, poor, dirty, troubled, different—without ever stopping to see the human being underneath the circumstances?

Someone's mother is standing in that line.

Someone's father is sleeping outside.

Someone's son is holding that cardboard sign.

Someone's daughter is wondering where her next meal will come from.

And every single one of them is someone God created and loves.

That day taught me something I don't ever want to forget:

You don't have to understand someone's choices to recognize their humanity.

You don't have to know their entire story to feed them.

You don't have to agree with the way they've lived to look them in the eyes.

You don't have to fix their life to remind them that their life still has value.

Sometimes you just have to see them.

That's why Joyful Blessings means so much to me.

Yes, we hand out food. We give clothing, hygiene products and necessities. We pray with people. We serve.

But it's so much bigger than the things we put into someone's hands.

It's reminding another human being:

I see you.
You matter.
You haven't been forgotten.
And God hasn't forgotten you either.

Jesus said:

ā€œTruly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.ā€ — Matthew 25:40

I understand that verse differently now.

Because I know what it's like to look across a serving line and suddenly realize…

That isn't just ā€œa homeless person.ā€

That's somebody's person.

That day, she happened to be mine.

And when I turned around and realized she was gone and hadn't gotten anything to eat, I wished I had one more chance to put everything else aside and simply serve the person standing in front of me.

So now, when I serve, I try to remember that feeling.

Because somewhere, somebody is praying that the person they love—even if their relationship is complicated, even if there has been hurt, even if life has taken them down a road nobody expected—will encounter someone who chooses compassion instead of judgment.

Be that someone.

Come serve.

Donate what you can.

Pray.

Give your time.

Look someone in the eyes and remind them that they are still worthy of being seen.

Because sometimes we think we're going out there to be a blessing to somebody else…

and then God uses the person standing on the other side of that serving line to change our heart. šŸ’œšŸ™āœļø

At some point, not sure when, winter will hit us. One day it'll be 90°, and the next it'll be 19°.

So, Let’s help keep our Huntsville neighbors warm this winter.

Every Tuesday, Joyful Blessings has the privilege of showing up for our homeless community with a hot meal, kindness,

conversation, and most importantly, love and dignity. We believe everyone deserves to be treated like a person who matters—because they do.

With the colder months coming, we’re looking for a few things that can help us make those Tuesday nights a little warmer. If you’re cleaning out a closet or pantry and have something you’d like to bless someone with, we would be so grateful for:

🧄 Coats, jackets, hoodies & sweaters
🧣 Hats, gloves & scarves
🧦 Clean, warm socks
šŸ›ļø Blankets
🄫 Pop-top canned foods
šŸ² Easy meals that only need hot water—or no preparation at all

We don’t want anyone to feel like they have to give more than they can. Even one coat, one blanket, or a few cans of food can make a difference.

And if you have something to give that we aren't able to use immediately, we'll do our best to make sure it gets into the hands of another local organization or someone in our community who needs it.

Thank you for continuing to love our community alongside us. Every meal, every donation, every conversation, and every act of kindness matters more than you know.

If you’d like to help, reach out to us or learn more about Joyful Blessings at JBHSV.org.

Let’s keep Huntsville warm—one person at a time.

Together, we can make a difference in the lives of those in need, offering not just meals, but hope and support. Your involvement helps us extend our reach, providing essential resources and fostering a sense of belonging for everyone. Whether through volunteering your time, donating, or simply spre...

Hey y’all… I want to take a moment to say I’m truly sorry for being so quiet on here lately. Life and work have been heavy, and I haven’t shown up the way this page and more importantly, our people deserve.
But please hear me when I say this, they have NOT been forgotten. Not for a second.
Our homeless community is still out there every single day, still needing support, still needing to feel seen, loved, and cared for. Even when this page is quiet, the need is not.
We’re still here. We’re still showing up. And we still need you.

Right now, we are not taking clothing donations we’re taking a short break from that.

What would help the most during this heat is:
• Bottled water
• Electrolyte drinks (Gatorade/Gatorade powder, which we can bag and hand out to go with the bottled waters, etc.)
• Pop-top canned foods
• Ramen or easy-to-make meals
• Cooling items like small fans, cooling towels, sunscreen, hats
• Hygiene products

These items truly make a difference out there in this heat. And if you can’t give, your prayers matter more than you know. Please keep our homeless community covered in prayer, strength, protection, and provision.

Thank you for your grace with me during this time. we are still here and my heart is still fully in this.

We serve. We love. We don’t forget.
If you’d like to donate or help, please message us! šŸ’œšŸ™āœļø

There’s something sacred about feeding someone who is hungry.

To everyone who has donated to the Essential Church canned food drive through Joyful Blessings, thank you. Truly.

Your kindness is reaching people in moments where they need it most.

What may feel small to you is life-giving to someone else.

We are still in need of donations: Canned foods with pop-tops, ramen, and meals that can be cooked over a fire with limited resources.

If you’ve been thinking about giving, this is your sign.

You have the opportunity to be someone’s answered prayer.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
You have done a great and loving work that is reaching people in some of their hardest moments. We see it, the Lord sees it. Thank you again.

As this year came to an end, I couldn’t help but reflect.
Not on numbers.
Not on recognition.
But on people.
The conversations.
The hugs.
The quiet moments when someone realized they weren’t alone.
Joyful Blessings was never about doing something big.
It was about doing something real.
There were days that stretched us.
Moments that tested our faith.
Times we wondered how everything would come together.
And somehow.. it did.
Because this community shows up.
Because love shows up.
Because when we choose compassion, things move.
Now we’re stepping into a new year carrying every lesson, every prayer, every story with us.
The need is still here.
The calling is still here.
And so are we.
If you’ve supported, prayed, volunteered, given, or simply believed in what we’re building — thank you. Truly.
And if this is the year you’ve been feeling the nudge to get involved
Welcome.
Let’s make this year one where more people feel seen, supported, and loved.
This is a new year for Joyful Blessings.
And we’re walking into it with open hands and open hearts.

01/31/2026

This is uncomfortable to post. But it’s honest.
Right now, Joyful Blessings isn’t receiving donations.
That means when we show up, we don’t always have enough.
Not enough blankets.
Not enough food.
Not enough to say yes to everyone.
The need didn’t disappear.
The cold didn’t get kinder.
People didn’t stop being hungry.
We’re still here. We’re still showing up.
But we can’t do this alone.
If you can give please do.
If you can’t please share this so it reaches someone who can.
This work matters. These people matter.
And right now… we need help.

01/26/2026

Hope is needed right now not later.
Tonight, someone is wondering where they’ll sleep.

Tomorrow, someone is praying for warmth.
And right now, we have a chance to be the answer.

Joyful Blessings is preparing to serve our unhoused neighbors, but we urgently need help to do it well.

We are asking for blankets, jackets, canned food with pop tops, hygiene items, socks, and warm supplies.

This is hope in action.
This is love with sleeves rolled up.
This is what it looks like to show up before it’s too late. If you’ve ever wondered when to help this is the moment.

Please give if you can.
Please pray if you can’t.
Please share so this reaches the right hearts.

ā€œLet us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth.ā€
