The Flood Family Foundation is proud to announce Jah’lil Burnell, the recipient of the 2026 Doris J. Flood Memorial Scholarship!

A graduate of Northampton County Early College, Jah’lil will attend North Carolina A&T State University this fall, where she plans to study Biology on the Pre-Dental Track and pursue her dream of becoming a dentist.

When asked what receiving the scholarship meant to her, Jah’lil shared:

“It reminded me that my hard work and dedication have been seen and supported by others.”

This scholarship will help alleviate the financial burden of college expenses, allowing Jah’lil to focus on her education, campus involvement, and future career goals. Most importantly, it serves as a reminder that her community believes in her potential and is invested in her success.

At the Flood Family Foundation, we believe that when we invest in students, we invest in the future.
