MISSION OF “THE HOME”

THIS SITE IS MERELY ARCHIVAL FROM PRE-2000. The Children’s Home was begun by Methodist and community leaders in 1909 to care for orphans referred there from across the western half of North Carolina. Through the years, it became home to many thousands of orphans and to children needing special time away from their homes. Later, regular programs of non-residential services for kids evolved. Alumni of the home have gone on to be professionals, pastors, professors, sportsmen and women, teachers, nurses, good Christians, good citizens and good family members and leaders. “WE ARE PROUD, PROUD OF THE CHILDREN’S HOME. LET ME MAKE HER PROUD OF ME!”
