Sweet Bambi got spooked while on a walk and ran away from good samaritans trying to help catch her. She should hopefully still have on her yellow “adopt me” collar and leash.

Meet Asher!

He’s a little bundle of joy with the happiest personality! At just over 5 months old, this sweet boy makes it impossible to have a bad morning. He wakes up ready to start the day with tail wags, cuddles, and excitement for whatever adventure comes next.

Asher is both crate trained and potty trained, and he sleeps through the night like a champ. During the day, he loves exploring the yard, going on walks, playing fetch and tug-of-war, collecting all his toys into one spot, and chewing on sticks or his favorite stuffed animals. He also plays wonderfully with other dogs and has never met a stranger.

When he’s all tired out from playing, Asher is more than happy to curl up for cuddles or roll over for endless belly rubs. With his loving personality and joyful spirit, it’s impossible not to fall in love with this adorable puppy.

Overall, Asher is an incredibly special puppy with the most fun temperament.

This crew was a part of a colony we are also supporting TNR efforts. These 5 have been so sweet and social and we are now accepting applications for their forever homes!

I was surprised to find this in my drafts, and the recollection of the feelings from when this was made hit me like a tidal wave.

Transparently, I was in a very dark place at the time. Rescue doesn’t pause when life gets hard. The dogs still need care, the emergencies still happen, and the weight of it all can feel especially heavy when you’re carrying battles of your own. I couldn’t bring myself to share this at the start of the new year. All I could see was the heartbreak. The neglect, the abuse, the losses, the exhaustion. I didn’t want to project that sadness onto anyone else.

Watching 6 months later on the backside of that phase of life, I see it completely differently. I see resilient dogs choosing love after every reason not to. I see volunteers, fosters, adopters, donors, and supporters showing up day after day with open hearts. I see a community carrying one another through difficult seasons, often in ways that aren’t visible from the outside.

Animal rescue has taught me that healing rarely happens alone. We celebrate the dogs who learn to trust again, but the people involved in their journeys are often healing alongside them. Sometimes showing up for an animal becomes the thing that helps someone keep showing up for themselves.

So if you’re in a hard season right now, know that you’re not alone. Time doesn’t erase everything, but it can bring perspective and hope in ways we don’t always recognize while we’re in the middle of it.

Looking back, I’m incredibly grateful. Not just for how far I’ve come, but for the extraordinary community that surrounds this rescue. Thank you for continuing to believe in these animals, in this mission, and in each other.

What a difference 6 months can make. And what an incredible community to be surrounded by.

Meet Reuben! (aka RooRoo, Ruby, or Rue — he answers to all of them!)

This sweet 5-year-old , 50lbs boy is looking for his forever home, and honestly? He’s going to make someone incredibly lucky. Reuben was found as a stray after wandering up to some kind people — hungry, underweight, and in search of a new life.

Reuben is the full package when it comes to being a great companion. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and cats, and he is an absolute people lover. His gentle, social nature really shines around kids too as he does wonderful around them!

He’s housetrained, microchipped, and settling into foster life more and more each day. Crating is still a work in progress as he gets anxious at times, but he’s improving every single day.

Reuben loves his food and who can blame him? Given how underweight he was when he was found, it makes complete sense that he wants to hold onto what’s his. He can be a little protective of food and new toys around other pets but this is truly a tiny blip in an otherwise amazing personality, and with time and training, he’s already showing so much progress!

Reuben is currently being treated for heartworms, though you’d never know it- he’s full of life and joy! Treatment will be underway as soon as possible, setting him up for a long, happy, healthy life ahead.

Reuben has been through a lot, but he hasn’t let any of it dim his spirit. He is ready to find his people — someone who will give him the safe, loving home he deserves and let him finally keep all the toys he wants.
