Meet Tillie, a 2-year-old Lab mix with the sweetest soul and so much love to give.
Tillie was found as a stray and had a really difficult time in the shelter, but since moving into a home, she has started to blossom. At around 70 pounds, she may be a big girl, but she is truly a gentle giant: calm, mild-mannered, affectionate, and incredibly sweet.
Tillie is friendly with dogs, cats, kids, and people. She is potty trained, crate trained, and very well behaved in the home.
She is still learning what it means to simply be a dog and have fun. She loves walks, chewing on bones, and taking every single toy out of the toy basket.
Tillie recently joined our Bark & Heal program and has been amazing with the kids. She is gentle, patient, attentive, and incredibly smart. She picks up new training quickly and seems eager to learn.
After everything she has been through, watching Tillie come out of her shell has been so special. She is ready for a family who will give her the safe, loving home she deserves and keep showing her just how good life can be.
About the BB Bark and Heal Program:
Alexander Youth Network provides comprehensive mental health treatment to children and adolescents through many services, one of them being Bark and Heal which was founded in 2018 with the goal of pairing children who have mental health and emotional challenges with canines to provide training and rehabilitation. This program is not only beneficial for the dogs who are receiving training that will allow for placement in homes, it also assists children with finding acceptance, building confidence and self-esteem through their dedicated responsibilities. We are excited to continue to save more pups like Emmylou who qualify for this program and will help change so many lives on their path to their forever home.
