The Kings Mountain Hometown Farmers Market wraps up its season tomorrow. Fresh, local food is one of the simplest building blocks of good health, and we're lucky to have it right here in Cleveland County.

Meet Joshua Yelverton, MD, our 2026 Board Chair.

A Blakely, GA native, Dr. Yelverton has practiced with ENT Carolina since 2015, served as Chair of Surgery from 2018 to 2022, and is helping revive the Cleveland County Medical Society.

We were grateful to get an update from grant recipient Megan Murphy on everything she and her team have been doing at Broad River Market for their Food Is Medicine initiative.

The project reaches neighbors living with two or more chronic conditions, delivering healthy food directly to the people who need it. Local, seasonal fruits and vegetables, giving our neighbors the nutrition to heal and feel better at home.

September 1 marked 34 years of the Dover YMCA, and on September 3, the Cleveland County Family YMCA celebrated what comes next.

The Y broke ground on the Candy Arey Family Plaza and cut the ribbon on a new Teaching Kitchen the Healthcare Foundation was proud to help make possible. Hands-on cooking classes, nutrition education, and healthy living programs, right here for our neighbors to use.
