We’ve got BIG news and even bigger plans! Appalachian Community Action is so excited to have received a $2,500 financial award from West Virginia Can’t Wait. These funds will be absolutely invaluable as we approach the winter months. We are already putting them to good use, renting trucks and storage to recover camping gear from Seven Stars music festival!

Huge thank you to WV Can't Wait for supporting grassroots organizations like ours. We take pride in stretching every dollar to serve the Charleston WV Community. Camping gear is a major need during the winter months especially, and it is expensive! This award will help us give countless neighbors shelter from the elements when they need it most.

We are SO excited to announce this collaboration between Appalachian Community Action, Clean Vibes LLC, and Seven Stars Festival!

Did you know that about 80% of trash generated by music festivals comes from what’s left behind by campers? The Association of Independent Festivals estimates that 1 to 2 out of every 6 tents is abandoned; used for a single weekend and then left behind - along with sleeping bags, camp chairs, gazebos, clothes, rubber boots, food, and more!

Clean Vibes LLC works tirelessly to clean up venues post-fest, keeping the grounds beautiful and healthy. Volunteers and passionate environmentalists come together to sweep the grounds and dispose of everything left by festival-goers.

Appalachian Community Action is a grassroots organization, working with unhoused and similarly vulnerable populations in West Virginia and beyond. This year at Seven Stars, ApCA is partnering with Clean Vibes to reclaim camping gear and distribute it to folks living on the streets this winter.

Here’s where you come in! If you’re attending Seven Stars, and don’t plan to use the gear you brought in the future, please leave it in one of 4 designated points around the festival for our team to pick up on Monday. Drop off locations will be at the four shower pods located throughout the campgrounds, 3 in GA and 1 in VIP. Please ensure any gear is stacked against the perimeter fence, out of the flow of traffic and away from shower entrances.

Every tent, sleeping bag, and box of chips you leave behind will be distributed straight back to people who need it! Show love, Spread love, in and out of the venue 🫶
