Tomorrow maybe my last protest at the CourtHouse. It
Depends on what Bernie Sanders ask me to do.

I was one of 110 people who followed up on Bernie's visit. I joined his first follow up call Tuesday evening. I'll be on his 2nd strategy call tonight. I saw Bernie in Mingo County because I'm spending a little time there and in Boone Co. with Dr. Ron Stollings, a middle of the road Democrat in Boone who served in the WV Senate for 24 years and ran for governor in 2020. We've been talking about how to reach Trump supporters, in some of the reddest counties, with the truth of what Republicans are doing. My newest sign wil read.... Republicans Lie! Their Party, Today, Is Anti-American.

This is the key line in the Post:

The Trump regime cannot prevent us from joining together with other citizens to become a Sanctuary Community — providing assistance to families whose lives and well-being are threatened by Trump’s federal police.
Let’s form a sanctuary community. We can do it to protect people from ice, but we could also do it to organize around and maybe do more. We need to come together as a people against the growing attack on the rule of law and democracy

I have to miss our fledgling protest Friday 8/8. I have a funeral to attend in Virginia at 1:00 the 8th. Leaving tomorrow 8/8.
I reached out to a couple of supporters, asking them to lead. So far, no takers. I'll keep trying.

I will be back to hear BERNIE, but in Lenore-Mingo Co., not in Charleston. I've make contacts in Boone and Mingo trying to find a way to break into the political conversation there. Can we make sense with any Trump supporters??? That's my question. I don't see anyone trying, at least not yet.

At least 40 people turned out to see the Accused go to Court yesterday.
We need a crowd like that just one or two times at the Federal Courthouse to stir things up with ICE. (and not get arrested) I heard a ICE horror story yesterday. A Charleston business owner who confronted ICE successfully in part.

Three Stalwart Souls braved the heat in front of the Federal CourtHouse Friday. Happy to report the sidewalk is shaded.
Art leads the Saturday Protest and is a regular on Fridays. Brit Aguirre is new from Logan and you'll find her at Britta@BritforWV, a candidate for Congress. She's at the Capital every Saturday.

The GSA has granted us permission to protest every Friday at the Federal CourtHouse until Sept. 5th. I chose the 5th because I'll be in France the 2 Fridays after the 5th. But we can extend the time if we can grow our effort. JOIN US TOMORROW FOR 10 MINUTES OR whatever time you have between 11:30 & 1:00
