Welcome to The Canine Stroke Foundation.
This page exists because of a dog named Finley, and because of everything that should have been easier.
Finley is a 14-year-old Border Collie who has survived three strokes. Getting him the right care required piecing together clinical literature, navigating costs that put confirmed diagnosis out of reach, and asking questions that should have had clearer answers. It was not a failure of love. It was a failure of available information and accessible care.
The Canine Stroke Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit currently in formation, built to close that gap. We are working to fund access to care for dogs affected by canine stroke and to provide resources that help owners and veterinary professionals make informed decisions when it matters most.
We are building this the right way: transparently, carefully, and with a clear standard for how funds are raised and used. There is still a lot of work ahead, and we are glad to have you here for it.
If you found this page because you are going through something similar, you are in the right place. If you found it because you want to help build something that did not exist before, we would love to have you involved.
