Chappaqua Summer Scholarship Program

CSSP hosts promising students from NYC high schools into our community for academic enrichment to broaden their horizons and prepare them for college.

Hello Chappaqua!

Planning for 2026 is in full swing and we have exciting updates! This summer will welcome a whole new group of freshmen as well as last year's sophomores and juniors. Our scholars will be coming to us from:

- Bronx Academy for Software Engineering
- Bard Early College Bronx
- Collegiate Institute for Math & Science
- South Bronx Preparatory
- The Bronx School for Law, Government & Justice

We are also so grateful to be working again with many of our community partners to bring next level enrichment programming to our teens – Green Room Music, Jacob Burns Film Center, Willowbrook Swim & Tennis, Hudson Valley Shakespeare, and New Castle Baseball & Softball Association – and the list is growing.

But none of this is possible without our neighbors and fellow New Castle residents who provide the hallmark of our organization – the homestay experience. Please join the CSSP mission by hosting a student for 2 weeks this summer (Sunday nights through Friday mornings). It is an experience as life-changing for our families as it is for our students.

New to the afternoon enrichment activities this summer was 🎼 Music Production 🎧 made possible by . Students got to spend hands on time with a variety of instruments and even got a look into music writing and producing. This class was an instant hit with our Scholars and we are so grateful for community members and businesses like Eugene Song of GRM for providing a creative outlet and access to the arts in our area.

STEAM is a core part of our summer curriculum and we are lucky to use Horace Greeley’s STEAM Center. This year, HGHS’s Greenhouse & STEAM Center Director, Coach DeBellis, led the CSSP Scholars through various woodworking skills. The students then worked in teams to pitch ideas for their summer project. The group decided on a cutting board that was then gifted to their host families. The finishing touch was a laser engraved logo.
