Chapmanville Against Home Rule

For 75 years Chapmanville existed just fine without a sales tax, every town council meeting in the years following its implementation were roses and rainbows when it came to budgets.

Now it seems we have to look for new council members because if they didn't truly need your money, then they just decided to take it.

Elections are next year. Will you step up?

Prior to the public hearing, a council member started that we needed the additional sales tax because the things we've added to the towns services this year, such as health insurance and pensions, and the covid monies wouldn't be around to pay.

Asid from putting the cart before the horse, the Town accountant just stated that we have enough money that we would have made profit even without the covid monies.

Yet they still approved the additional sales tax in Chapmanville.

Anyone interested in changing that?

The town has plenty of money, as has been said at every town council meeting. Why do they need to tax you even more?

Show up and demand action from your representatives. Tell them no more.

The town of Chapmanville will have their first reading of their proposed sales tax ordinance on November 19th at 6:30 PM. It has to be read once more before a third reading/vote.

Will you stand by as they take more of your money, despite constantly profiting from you already?

Just stated in the Town Council Meeting. Your Council and mayor haven't been holding back on additional sales tax because they know times have been tough or they know you've been taxed enough.

They haven't moved forward because an email was lost staying they had authorization to do so. Even though every financial report has the Town making a profit off of you, your property and your businesses already.

They have said now they can move forward with charging you an additional sales tax for everything you buy in city limits, even online purchases. Will you oppose this?

Copied from the Town page. You can't see them in person. You can't physically let them know how upset you are, you can only look at them across a digital screen.

How's that for freedom.

Attend anyway. Just to tell them NO NEW TAXES.
You don't have to make a speech. Just tell them you oppose this major tax increase on their residents, and be done.
