Project Guanajuato

Project Guanajuato Project Guanajuato is a summer teaching internship experience for UNC undergraduates in Mexico. Students live with families and must speak Spanish.

This project, now in its fifth year, is a collaborative effort between the Latino Migration Project and the Mexican NGO Fundación Comunitaria del Bajio. Each summer, a team of undergraduates spends 7 weeks in rural communities in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico. Students live in one of two rural communities that experience high levels of emigration to the United States. In 2012, students will help

teach English, recreation, arts and/or dance classes at local elementary and high schools. The mission of the Fundación is to create viable economic and social opportunities in communities in the Bajío region. APPLY to be a team member! Deadline is January 21, 2012
