Yesterday marked the 105th anniversary of the writing of one of the most iconic poems of World War I, "In Flanders Fields" by Lt. Col. John McCrae.

Today, let's continue to honor the memory of those who fought and died in the Great War. The poem's powerful words and imagery, inspired by the red poppies that grew in the battle-scarred fields of Flanders, remind us of the devastating cost of war and the importance of striving for peace.

Take a moment to read the poem and reflect on the sacrifices of those who came before us:

"In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw

The Oklahoma heat is on its way, but we have refreshing mint mojitos on the menu. Mint is locally grown and sourced on property and pesticide free. Muddled with white rum, lime juice, & simple syrup. Topped with ice and club soda.

Welcome, Chandler Alumni. Stop in after the parade and reminisce about the good old days. After 9 p.m. we will have karaoke in the back room.
