I am SO incredibly proud to congratulate my friend, co-founder, and partner-in-making-a-difference, Katie D Wachala, on being recognized as a 40 Under 40 honoree! 💜
I nominated Katie because I’ve seen firsthand how much she gives to our community. I truly don’t know where Clothes for Kids would be without her. When Clothes for Kids was just a little idea in my heart, it felt like an unattainable dream. I knew I couldn’t build a nonprofit alone, but when Katie offered to partner with me, suddenly it felt possible. Her kind and generous heart made it easy to say yes, but so did everything else she brought to the table. She’s creative, incredibly organized, great with spreadsheets and tech (a skill I very much appreciate 😂), and our strengths complement each other in so many ways. It really has been the perfect partnership. 💜 CFK has helped more than 225 kids since we started a year ago (and likely many more we don’t know about through our social worker closet restocks).
And Clothes for Kids is just one part of the incredible impact Katie makes. She volunteers with the CU Free Prom event, serves as our school PTA president, volunteers with Girl Scouts, and is also an incredible mom, wife, and friend.
Katie, it was an honor to nominate you, and I’m so happy to see you recognized for all the good you put out into the world. I feel incredibly lucky that I get to call you my soul friend and Clothes for Kids co-founder. 💜 Congratulations, my amazing friend! You deserve to shine. ✨💜 -T
