Our club is supporting both Early Childhood Center in the Champaign-Urbana community.

We’ve loved watching the Adopt-A-School partnerships grow across our community this year. What started as a simple idea has turned into meaningful, lasting impact with community organizations learning from one another and sharing best practices for supporting schools in intentional, long-term ways.

These relationships go far beyond one-time donations. They create trusted partnerships that uplift teachers, encourage students, and strengthen the school culture. When organizations and schools invest in one another, everyone benefits and our entire community becomes stronger.

BREAKING NEWS ✨
Altrusa International of Champaign Urbana - a group that serves the C-U area primarily through literacy projects and projects that assist women and children - has adopted not ONE but TWO of our community schools!

Members of the group met with each school to discuss ways to support their teachers through the end of this school year including meals, treats, and volunteering at Pre-K Prom!

We are so grateful for their big hearts and desire to see our students and families cared for throughout the school year.

Thanks to the and the , along with our volunteers, we are very well stocked for our first pantry of 2026 at Centennial high school. We’re excited to be able to have so much fresh fruit, frozen meat, and fresh bread products to provide the students, in addition to the snacks that they love.

Thanks to a grant from the United Way of Champaign County, our high school food pantries at Centennial and Urbana High School each received $5000 to supplement what we get from the Eastern Illinois Foodbank to serve families at these schools during a time of increased food insecurity. We have been able to purchase flour, cooking oil, turkeys, cheese, fruit, vegetables, and more thanks to the grant. It's great to see our pantries well-stocked with a greater variety of food.
