SWE Outreach is a part of the University of Illinois Society of Women in Engineering. Follow to stay updated on current and upcoming events.

We organize STEM-themed events for kids ages K-12 to encourage them to pursue engineering.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the SWSG event! Strong Women Strong Girls is an in-person event for female students in 3rd through 5th grade to attend with their mother figures. The goal of this event is to empower young girls through hands-on engineering activities and to spark their curiosity in STEM. It was great to see so much curiosity, creativity, and engagement throughout the day. Thank you for making this event a great experience, and we hope to see you again next year!

Join UIUC SWE for our Strong Women Strong Girls event on Saturday, April 25th, 2026 from 9am-2pm! This event is open to all 3rd-5th grade girls and any mother figures. SWE Outreach had a blast this weekend with our kindergarten to 2nd grade astronauts and their father figures! We explored different STEM concepts through playdough Earth layers , constellation circuits , and pasta marshmallow towers to the moon ! Thanks for all who came, and we hope to see you again next year :D

A big thank you to everyone who joined us for Engineering Exploration a couple weeks ago! We had a great time building and testing catapults, catapult cars, and egg drop contraptions with all of you!
