Help us make Sarcoma Stomp a true community day 🧡

Sarcoma Stomp is more than a race.

Along with the 5K Run/Walk, new 10K, and 1 Mile Fun Run, we’re working to build a day that brings people together — runners, walkers, families, local businesses, volunteers, and supporters.

We are currently looking for vendors, local businesses, and community groups who would like to be part of Sarcoma Stomp 2026 at Carlyle Lake.

If you sell products, offer services, make food, represent a local organization, or simply want to be part of a meaningful community event, we’d love to hear from you.

We are also still welcoming sponsors who want to support pediatric cancer research, student scholarships, and the work BAMF is building in Bo’s memory.

Where Support Goes 🧡

Rare cancer research does not always move in big, simple headlines.

Sometimes it moves through careful, difficult work like building better models, asking better questions, and giving researchers the tools they need to better understand a disease.

cc-TDI recently shared an update with us on their epithelioid sarcoma research, including work connected to support from the Bo Arvin Memorial Foundation.

The heart of the update is this: their team is working to better understand how epithelioid sarcoma behaves, why it can be so difficult to treat, and how future research may help identify more effective treatment approaches.

This includes developing better research models and studying how existing therapies might be combined with other approaches in the future.

It is early-stage work. It is complex work. But it matters.

When you register for Sarcoma Stomp, sponsor the event, donate, volunteer, or share BAMF’s mission, this is part of what you are helping support.

Research takes time. Progress takes people. And this is why we keep showing up.

Why We Show Up 🧡

Behind the Bo Arvin Memorial Foundation are people who knew Bo, loved Bo, and continue to believe his memory can be used to do something good for others.

From time to time, we want to share some of those stories — not because any one person is the reason this foundation exists, but because every person involved carries a piece of the “why.”

Today, we’re starting with Jared, a BAMF board member and one of Bo’s closest friends.

Why do you serve on the BAMF board?

"Bo was my best friend.

Friends like that do not come along often. For me, he was one of those once-in-a-lifetime people — the kind of friend who becomes part of your story in a way that never really leaves.

When Bo passed away in 2018, it left a hole that was hard to explain. For years, there was sadness and loss, but not always a clear place to put it.

Bo’s mom and family had talked for years about starting a foundation in his memory. When the Bo Arvin Memorial Foundation officially came together in 2025 and I was asked to serve on the board, I did not hesitate.

It felt like something I needed to be part of.

BAMF has given me a better outlet for that loss. It does not replace Bo. Nothing could. But it gives us a way to take the love people still have for him and put it toward something good — scholarships, pediatric cancer research, Sarcoma Stomp, and a community that supports our mission.

For me, that has turned grief into purpose.

I serve on the board because I loved my friend, and because doing something good in his memory feels like the best way I know how to keep showing up for him."

Sarcoma Stomp is more than a race. It is one of the ways we continue honoring Bo while helping support work that matters beyond our own community.

A big portion of the support raised through Sarcoma Stomp helps fund pediatric cancer research, including work through Children's Cancer Therapy Development Institute , or cc-TDI.

cc-TDI is focused on moving research toward better treatment options for children facing cancers that still need more answers, more attention, and more urgency. That mission is deeply connected to why this foundation exists.

When people register, sponsor, donate, volunteer, or share Sarcoma Stomp, they help us continue supporting research efforts like this.

You can learn more about Sarcoma Stomp and the Bo Arvin Memorial Foundation at boarvinmf.org.

You can also learn more about the research being done by cc-TDI at cc-tdi.org.

This is why we keep showing up!

Local businesses and organizations — we’d love to have you be part of Sarcoma Stomp 2026.

Sponsorships help make race day possible, but they also support the bigger mission behind it: funding pediatric cancer research and providing scholarships to students in Bo’s memory.

This year’s event will include a 5K Run/Walk, a new 10K, a 1 Mile Fun Run, vendors, raffle baskets, food trucks, and family-friendly activities.

If you own a business, work for one that supports local causes, or know someone who may want to get involved, we’d be grateful if you shared this with them.

Every sponsor helps us keep building something meaningful — for Bo, for families affected by cancer, and for the students and research efforts this foundation supports.

One of the most meaningful things we get to do each year is award the "Love of Ten" Award at Christ Our Rock Lutheran High School

This Award was created to honor the kind of friendship, loyalty, and love that defined Bo’s life and the people closest to him.

We’re proud to recognize this year’s recipient Ayden Heath!

We will continue investing in students who reflect those same values.

Congratulations to Ayden! 🧡

Friends.

People who knew Bo.
People who simply want to support a good cause.

What started as a way to honor our friend has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined.

Because of this community, we’ve been able to support pediatric cancer research and continue providing scholarships in Bo’s memory.

And now we’re getting ready to do it again.

This picture was taken around the time Bo was diagnosed with lymphoma in high school.

A couple of us shaved our head as he was starting treatment — not because it changed anything, but because we didn’t want him walking into that alone.

The truth is, we were scared. We didn’t really know what was coming.

But somehow, Bo was the one breaking the tension. He used humor and sarcasm to make the rest of us feel steady — even though he was the one facing the hardest part.

That was just who he was. He made people feel comfortable. He brought people together. Even when he was the one carrying the most.

The Bo Arvin Memorial Foundation exists because of that spirit.

We support pediatric cancer research so fewer families have to sit in that kind of uncertainty.
We invest in students so the loyalty and compassion Bo showed continue forward.

Twenty years later, that same loyalty is still what drives this foundation. 🌻
