Saddling up for a new school year! 🤠

Members of our staff recently gathered in Cody, Wyoming, to recharge and prepare for another year of bringing hope, connection, and kindness to schools across the country.

The best teams are built through connection, and we can’t wait to get back on the road. ā¤ļøšŸ”—

This week, our Founder, Darrell Scott, and CEO, Kristi Krings, had the opportunity to meet with Speaker of the House Mike Johnson to discuss the importance of preventing school violence and keeping our schools safe.

Being at our nation's Capitol during the week of America's 250th birthday made the moment especially meaningful. We're thankful for the chance to continue advocating for safer schools and a brighter future for every student.

For more than 25 years, Rachel’s Challenge has focused on one question:

How do we prevent violence before it happens?

That conversation begins long before a crisis. It starts by recognizing concerns early, encouraging appropriate reporting, and taking warning signs seriously.

Prevention isn’t a single initiative. It’s an ongoing commitment to addressing risk before it escalates. Prevention begins with connection. šŸ”—

School violence is often discussed in terms of emergency response.

Prevention deserves the same attention.

After more than two decades working alongside schools, one lesson remains consistent: preventing violence starts long before a crisis unfolds. It begins by recognizing concerns early, encouraging appropriate reporting, and taking warning signs seriously.

The conversation around school safety shouldn't begin after an incident. It should begin with prevention.

You never know who needs encouragement today.
Kindness doesn’t have to be big to matter. ā˜€ļø

The final bell may have rung, but kindness doesn’t take a summer break. ā˜€ļøā¤ļø

The lessons that matter most aren’t always found in textbooks:

āœ”ļø Empathy
āœ”ļø Compassion
āœ”ļø Looking out for others

This summer, let’s continue checking in on one another, strengthening connections, and making sure no one feels alone.

Small actions can make a lasting difference.

We’re honored to partner with East Hartford Public Schools and East Hartford Middle School to help students build a culture of connection, kindness, and compassion. 🫶

When students feel seen, valued, and connected, incredible things happen—not only socially and emotionally, but academically too. The leadership shown by these students through the EHMS F.O.R. Club is exactly how positive change begins: one act of kindness at a time. šŸ”—ā¤ļø

Research shows that having just one trusted adult can dramatically improve a student’s mental health and reduce risky behaviors like bullying. Connection is prevention. When students feel supported, they thrive—and safer schools follow.
