This past Friday, we hosted the Recycle Colorado Greater Colorado Council at The Crown in Breckenridge to experience The Colorado Cup system in action! ⚡️😎
It was an honor to welcome nearly 30 sustainability leaders from across Colorado to see what an open-loop reuse system looks like in practice.
We talked candidly about what’s working, what’s challenging, and where we’re headed next. We also shared our ambitious vision of one connected reuse network across Colorado over the next three years. (Read that again!)
Imagine borrowing a reusable cup in Breckenridge, returning it in Boulder, and eventually doing the same in communities across the state. That’s the kind of infrastructure we’re building.
The high of the afternoon wasn’t being concerningly overcaffeinated (which we totally were). It was seeing how many people wanted to help! Conversations quickly turned into introductions, café recommendations, partnership ideas, and new opportunities to grow the network.
A statewide reuse system takes root when businesses, nonprofits, municipalities, universities, and community members BUILD 👏 IT 👏TOGETHER.👏
The sustainable choice has to be the easy choice. And the more cafés and communities that join the network, the easier reuse becomes for everyone. ⚡️
If you believe, as we do, that Colorado can build a connected reuse network - one that we’ve already seen succeed in communities around the world - we’d love to hear from you.
Whether you know a café that you’d love to join, have a connection to share, or simply want to be part of the conversation, every introduction matters.
We don’t think the future of reuse belongs to one organization.
It belongs to all of us, as one community striving together. 🧡
