We are a 501 c3 non-profit providing services to Delta, Montrose and Ouray counties. Our mission is to provide high quality, low cost spay/neuter services and make a measurable impact on cat overpopulation with a focus on community and abandoned cats. Our organization is run entirely by a group of dedicated volunteers. We are working to expand spay/neuter services, TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) and r

escue opportunities through community education and key partnerships with Veterinarians and other animal welfare organizations. Working with members of the community that see a problem and want to be a part of the solution is KEY to helping these cats live better lives and stop the cycle of reproduction. Services Provided include Low Cost/High Volume Spay Neuter, TNR, Vaccinations, Trapping, Education, Community Outreach, Advocacy, Rescue, Medical Care for Rescued Cats, Colony Management, Partnership with area Veterinarians, Shelters and Animal
Rescue/Welfare Organizations. Our organization operates SOLEY ON DONATIONS. 100% goes towards veterinary care and spay/neuter services.

🚨 PLEASE SHARE — SAVE KITTENS’ LIVES! 🚨

🐾 Kitten season is here! If you find tiny kittens that appear to be nursing … DO NOT take them inside.

👉🏼 LEAVE THEM BE.

❗ Removing nursing kittens from their mother is often a death sentence. They need their mom’s milk — it contains life-saving nutrients that formula simply can’t replace.

🐱 If you see kittens alone, mom is likely nearby.
She may be:
• Searching for food
• Moving her kittens
• Taking a short break

💡 What YOU can do instead:
✔️ Watch from a distance for a few hours
✔️ Leave a small circle of flour to check for mom’s paw prints
✔️ Provide food, water, and simple shelter nearby

❤️ A community cat mom knows how to care for her babies. She doesn’t need us to rescue — she needs us to support.

⏳ Wait until kittens are 5-6 weeks old (and starting to wean) before intervening. The kittens can be rescued then and mom can be spayed so she doesn't birth more kittens!

For more info on building kitties a warm place to land this winter, consider joining for a free webinar sponsored by Bideawee's Feral Cat Initiative! Thank you to them and hope you can make it. 🙏🐾

It's ! 🌬️❄️🏠🌡️🐱 Join us for a FREE webinar on December 3 to learn the materials, tools, and skills needed to build warm, waterproof shelters to protect feral and stray community cats from harsh winter weather. We'll show you a variety of effective shelter styles from simple to fancy, and we'll discuss strategies for placing shelters for maximum warmth, comfort, and safety.

The presentation will include video demonstrations for building four simple and inexpensive styles of shelter, using very basic equipment and little to no special skills. We'll point out where you can use power tools, but all of these shelters can be made using simple hand tools or kitchen knives and a box cutter. Attendees will receive a downloadable handout with instructions for building the shelters in our demonstration videos.

Can't attend on 12/3? No problem! Everyone who registers will receive links to the webinar recording and handout the next day.

Thank you Friends of Feral Felines; such an important message for all of us.

To all of you out there making a difference in the lives of these kitties everyday- thank you. This world needs you and you deserve care too. 🙏🐾🩷

💛🐾 Compassion fatigue is real. 🐾💛
As caregivers, trappers, fosters, and feeders, we give so much of ourselves to help community cats. But it’s important to remember: you matter too.

Rest when you need to. Ask for help when it feels overwhelming. Celebrate the wins — even the small ones.

Today, on World Mental Health Day, we want to remind our FFF family and beyond that taking care of yourself is just as important as taking care of the cats.

I feel like I have to post this after the last couple days of very difficult situations. We are all trying to help. Most of us, including me, are volunteers, spending their own money, dedicating whatever time and resources they can to help. Please remember this, and YOU are someone that can help too- just like us. We have to work together and do better for these kitties. We are all trying so hard and if everyone just helped a little it would be a different and better world for all of us. 🙏🐾💔

We See You: The Reality of Helping Animals in Need

I saw a post today that really resonated with me- someone frustrated with rescues and shelters for saying “no” when they were trying to help an animal in need. I get it. I really do. That feeling of wanting to help but hitting a wall is heartbreaking.

Here’s the thing: shelters and rescues often have limited space and resources. When they’re full, or when the resources they normally rely on are stretched to the max, their hands are tied. Saying “check Google for resources” isn’t dismissive- it’s often the only guidance they can give. We can’t always expect shelters to magically make room in a system that’s already overwhelmed.

We are in the middle of a full-blown epidemic of animals needing help. The long-term solution isn’t just reacting- it’s preventing. Spaying and neutering to prevent accidental litters and helping animals before they end up in crisis is how we crawl out of this rut.

The kitten in this photo is one of those kittens who fits this story perfectly. There’s a rescuer working hard to find him a better solution than TNR- but for now at least he has a feeder, his ‘someone’ who cares. That’s a start.

Sometimes, when you see an animal in need, instead of looking for “someone” to step up, you have to be that someone. It’s hard. It’s frustrating. I feel that.

To everyone who notices an animal in need and takes action- thank you. To those who have tried and can’t find help yet- don’t give up. Change doesn’t happen overnight, but we save more lives and cover more ground when we work together.

Be patient and diligent- check in with rescues and shelters, reach out to family and friends, and at the very least, consider TNR. It’s not always a perfect fix in every situation, but it’s a great start.
