Birdie’s Story ❤️
Birdie is coming around so nicely. 🥹 With a little grain and patience, we were finally able to get some pets on her and move her hair enough to read her brand.
When I got home, I was able to enter her information into the BLM system and finally learn a little more about where she came from.
Birdie was captured October 28, 2023, from Robert’s Mountain, Nevada. Same herd as Yarrow! Wonder if they know eachother? Or related? But anyways from there, she went through several different holding facilities before eventually making her way to the Liberty, Kentucky event with Kitchi earlier this year.
These horses have been so deeply betrayed by humans. They’ve been captured, moved, confined, and passed from place to place without ever understanding why.
But thankfully, that is only a short chapter in Birdie’s story.
We have the opportunity to write the rest. ❤️
And that’s exactly why we’re working so hard to grow Twin Arrows Sanctuary.
We haven't received any donations toward our wood posts yet. If we can’t grow our facilities, we can’t bring more mustangs home. We can’t build the pastures, fencing, shelters, and space they need.
And horses like Birdie will continue to need somewhere to go and we want to be able to say yes to them.
If you believe in what we're doing, please consider becoming a sponsor on Patreon —or even just giving $1, $5, $10 or whatever you can. Every single bit helps us build the space that allows us to say YES to the next Birdie. 🥹❤️
Help us write the next chapter.
