Nebraska is also in the bullseye for severe weather today...

Upslope flow will trigger isolated storms developing off the Front Range early this afternoon. As this activity tracks eastward into central and western Nebraska, it will tap into a pocket of stronger instability and favorable wind shear, allowing a few robust supercells to organize. The strongest storms will be capable of producing very large hail up to 2 inches in diameter and damaging wind gusts topping 70mph!

A rogue severe storm is also possible along the I-25 corridor in Colorado today!

A LUNAR ECLIPSE will paint the moon a deep red tomorrow night!

With the partial eclipse phase becoming visible starting at 9:30pm CDT tomorrow, the eastern half of the U.S. will have a front row seat to the entire event from start to finish, while the West Coast will catch the eclipse already in progress right as the moon rises.

Scattered storms forecast to develop along and north of I-80 in Nebraska this afternoon (Thursday August 27) *may* evolve into a cluster that tracks southward into portions of northwest Kansas this evening and overnight. Wind gusts up to 70 mph and quarter to ping pong ball size hail are possible, mainly north of I-70 and east of Highway 25 between 8 pm and 1 am CDT. Low confidence in thunderstorm coverage (similar to the past several days).
