Today, Scouting America Troop 50 joined the community in marching in the local parade to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice on Memorial Day.
It was a privilege for our Scouts and leaders to represent the values of service, remembrance, and patriotism while standing alongside veterans, families, and community members in tribute to our fallen heroes. We are proud of the respect and spirit shown by everyone who participated today. đŸ‡șđŸ‡ČđŸŽș

This weekend our Scouts had a strong showing at Camp Woodland's Spring Camporee, displaying their skills throughout a wide variety of challenges. Through teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and Scoutcraft, our Scouts represented Troop 50 with determination, confidence, and a great attitude all weekend long. Their hard work and preparation paid off as they finished 2nd overall out of 23 troops... an accomplishment that reflects the dedication and effort they continue to put into growing as Scouts and leaders.

Today Troop 50 braved the chilly, rainy temperatures as they completed a 10-mile hike along the Erie Canal — trekking from Port Byron through Elbridge. Despite the tough weather, the Scouts showed determination, teamwork, and resilience every step of the way. Challenges like these help build confidence, endurance, and memories that last a lifetime. Great job to everyone who took on the miles and represented the troop with pride!

Last night’s meeting showed great progression across all skill levels in the troop. The older Scouts continued building their proficiency with lashing techniques, strengthening their ability to construct sturdy and practical pioneering projects. At the same time, some of the newer Scouts began working toward their Totin’ Chip, learning the essential safety rules and responsibilities that come with handling wood tools. It was a productive night of skill-building, teamwork, and steady advancement for everyone involved in Troop 50's program within Scouting America.

Last night was our first meeting since crossover, and the Scouts hit the ground running!
One patrol focused on knots while the other worked on lashing—and both groups found success. It was great to see teamwork, focus, and skill-building right out of the gate.
Excited to see these Scouts continue to grow and build confidence each week!

Troop 50 had an incredible few days exploring and learning at Camp TriMount in the Catskills!
While there, Scouts took advantage of the area’s unique opportunities—touring Howe Caverns and diving deeper into their understanding of geology. They also challenged themselves with a hike up Vroman’s Nose, taking in some amazing views along the way.
The trip included visits to several historic sites tied to Revolutionary War skirmishes, giving Scouts a chance to connect with history firsthand.
Back at camp, the focus shifted to teamwork and skill-building. Scouts worked on cooking for larger groups, strengthening both their culinary skills and cooperation. They also enjoyed some friendly races, adding a little competition and fun to the mix.
A great trip full of adventure, learning, and Scout spirit!
