BIG CONGRATS to Braeden Dotson as he finished THIRD at the Kentucky Scholastic 3D Archery State Championship Tournament this weekend!
This young man is incredibly talented-- during his rookie season he shot 296/300 during the Indoor State Championship, a 298/300 at Indoor Nationals, and now finishing with a 504 at the Outdoor 3D Championship.
Let me tell you what you don't see on a scoresheet-- and what matters MORE to me:
He's the kind of positive teammate you want your children around (I speak from experience as my son has the honor of shooting with him on this team); he's an encouraging big brother (his little sister just finished her first S3DA season, too); and even when he gets frustrated -- he's quick to understand that he can solve the small issues that detoured him.
Braeden is an example of what we love most about archery-- and that is how it applies to our day-to-day lives. Focus and persistency can produce amazing results.
We always try to remind archers that "you are more than your score"; -- Braeden is walking proof.
no matter what is written on any scorecard this young man turns in, I assure you; he is and will always be a champion.
Congrats Braeden, thank you for representing Eastern Kentucky with class and excellence! We're so very proud of you!
