We were so pleased to hang out with some really great kiddos for the wrap up day of Healthy Kids Running Series - Bloomsburg, PA! Seeds of the Future sponsored the healthy snack today: Stonyfield yogurt parfaits with krispie rice, bananas and strawberries! Thanks for supporting Seeds of the Future - it allows us to do support activities like this in our community. What a great organization and experience to get kids engaged in being outside and staying active! Great job to all the volunteers behind the scenes who put this together!

ISO: Clean 2 lb yogurt containers, and plastic pint containers (like blueberries come in). We have been planting seeds in schools all over and we love repurposing containers! If you don't need them please just drop them off at Rohrbach's Farm Market, Bakery and Barn Loft we would love to use them!

A very big thank you to the Shamokin Walmart for giving Seeds of the Future a grant to help fund afterschool healthy food and agriculture education at Shamokin! Ms. Ashley and Ms. Denise were able to visit this afternoon and plant Burpee Gardening strawberries with families. Every kid took home their own planter of strawberry plants to care for this summer. Every family received a copy of "Are They Ready Yet?" by Denise Bosworth and we all enjoyed a super yummy strawberry snack! Thank you to the teachers who work behind the scenes to make this happen!

Seeds of the Future was super excited to be a part of sponsoring healthy snacks for Healthy Kids Running Series - Bloomsburg, PA this past weekend! We served Stonyfield yogurt parfaits with fruit and Ms. Kim, Ms, Kris, Owen and Maddie enjoyed hanging out with so many families from our community. Active, healthy kids is so important and we are glad to be a part of it!

The Special Friends Kick Off event was a full house!!! Thank you to Matilda’s Heart for sponsoring these events and making them possible!! We enjoyed yummy pizza from Slice of Sicily in Catawissa! We enjoyed a super fun craft and planting our porch planters. Hope to see you at the next event in May!

Once again the amazing Sharon Shultz from Catering For You and her staff presented our guests with the most delicious menu! This tea was a fund raiser for Seeds of the Future to help continue to support agriculture education and experiences in our community! Thank you for all the donations as well! We are very grateful!

Today we were honored to attend the Youth in Philanthropy recognition program. Seeds of the Future received a grant to provide Fresh Food Bags this summer to the youth and their families at The Refuge (Shikellamy School District) and provide another powerhouse food program to the Central Columbia Elementary School this fall to engage students in learning more about where their food comes from and how important healthy food choices are for their growing minds! We are so thankful for the Community Giving Foundation that provides this stellar program to develop youth in our community and intentionally give right back to the nonrprofits who are boots on the ground!

We are beyond excited to be partnering with the Columbia County Traveling Library on this summer garden project. Good things will be growing in Catawissa this summer!! Stay tuned because this will be getting our local kiddos involved for both reading, planting and growing!

We were just awarded a Grassroots Grant from and ! With the grant, the Traveling Library will partner with our friends at Seeds of the Future to bring to life, Readers in the Garden! Readers in the Garden will inspire curiosity, learning, and a love of nature by engaging youth in hands-on gardening experiences connected to literacy, science, and environmental education! Over the next several weeks, we will be working to install raised garden beds and garden pots to support this exciting new adventure! Stay tuned for more information about this new program offering set to launch this summer at the Catawissa Branch!
