FR, Let’s Talk

FR, Let’s Talk Welcome to FR, Let’s Talk—Real Talk, Biblical Truth for Christian Teen Girls. Here our tagline is: Biblically Salty, Eternally Lit.

This is your go-to space where teen girls can ask all the big questions about life, faith, and everything in between.

The invitation wasn’t the most dangerous thing she lost. It was the story she started writing when it didn’t come.

They didn’t invite me.
So they must not want me.
So they must not like me.
So maybe I’m the problem.

That’s how fast a circumstance can become an identity.

And THIS is where we get to step in.

Not to convince her it doesn’t hurt.
Not to tell her those girls are just jealous.

Not to immediately fix it, text the mom, or manufacture an invitation.

But to help her tell the truth about what happened without letting hurt add sentences that were never actually written.

Because David really was overlooked.

His own father gathered the sons he thought Samuel might want to see—and left David in the field.

That part wasn’t imagined.

It wasn’t “no big deal.”

He was overlooked.

And he was still chosen.

There is a massive difference between teaching our girls that rejection won’t happen... and teaching them that rejection doesn’t get the final word.

Some rooms won’t choose her.
Some people won’t see her.
Some invitations really won’t come.
But none of them get to tell her who she is.

Teach her to grieve the missing seat without questioning the worth of the girl who wasn’t sitting in it.

That lesson will outlast every middle school group chat. 🤍

Motherhood is so beautiful. 🥹 Anyway, here is Exhibit A through approximately Q.

Just keeping these on file for the future wedding slideshow, potential legal proceedings, and the glorious day they call me complaining about their own daughters.

😂 I PLAY THE LONG GAME.

09/01/2026

THROWBACK to the episode that is basically FR, LET’S TALK in its natural habitat. 😂Because the whole reason this podcast exists is pretty simple: teen girls have QUESTIONS. Big ones. Weird ones. Heavy ones. “Absolutely not raising my hand and asking this in front of 37 people at youth group” ones. 😂

So you send them anonymously.
We grab our Bibles.
And we TALK.

Season 3, Episode 2 brought the GOODS:
Am I going to hell for this?
What if I like girls?
Why do I feel so lonely?
What do I do about this friendship?
Why does life sometimes feel… empty?

CASUAL. 😂

But seriously—those things rolling around in your head, sitting heavy on your heart, or keeping you staring at the ceiling at 12:14 AM?

You were never meant to carry all of that alone.

Ask the question.
The real one.
The awkward one.
The one you’ve typed into Google and then immediately deleted like the FBI was coming. 😭😂

That’s why we’re here.

No name required.
No question too messy.
No judgment.

Just girls + honest conversations + an open Bible + a God who can handle every single question you bring Him.

🎧 THROWBACK: Season 3, Episode 2—BONUS Q+A — FR, Let’s Talk. Literally. It’s in the name.

SEPTEMBER JUST WALKED IN WEARING SLIPPERS AND SMELLING EXPENSIVE!

Like excuse me???

Sol de Janeiro—74 (thank you for a fall drop!)
A PSL.
A Jellycat acorn stuffie.
Plaid everything.
Cinnamon rolls.
Leaves changing.
The sudden biological need to own seventeen blankets.

We have officially entered the season of “I’m freezing” at 7AM, sweating by lunch, and emotionally prepared for fall regardless of what the actual temperature says.

September, babe.

WE’VE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU.🍁

And if you need us, we’ll be over here smelling like 74, carrying a PSL like it’s an emotional-support beverage, and explaining why yes, actually, we DID need the tiny acorn stuffie.🥹😂

HELLO SEPTEMBER. LET’S DO THIS.

We have GPS, backup cameras, Face ID and approximately 400 years of collective wisdom. Still out here pulling the PUSH door twice. 😭

Pull the door harder. Argue with the GPS. Yank the vacuum chord. Distrust the backup camera. Nod through directions you are absolutely not retaining. Eat the orange fruit snacks ONLY when society is collapsing. And then carry on like this is all completely normal.

OKAY BUT EXPLAIN THIS.

Because I KNOW it’s not just me. 😂😭

🚨TOMORROW. WE DROP🚨

GIRLS: 10 AM.💌

Your weekly dose of Jesus + snacks + things you absolutely did not need to know but will now be discussing for the next 48 hours.

Faith. Fun. Something to screenshot. Something to try. Something mildly unhinged. FREE. EVERY WEEK.

MOMS: yours drops at 8 PM.

Because at 10 AM you’ve already answered 37 questions, reheated your coffee twice, moved someone’s shoes out of the middle of the floor and whispered “Jesus, be near” over something that absolutely did not require spiritual warfare. 😭

So the girls get us at 10.

Mom, we’ll circle back when the house has lost a little volume. 😂

Not on the email list yet??? BABE. WE CANNOT KEEP MEETING LIKE THIS.

Get on it TODAY.

10 AM: GIRLS.
8 PM: MOMS.

YOUR INBOX IS BOOKED + BUSY TOMORROW. 💌

Entering fall with your +1 because God quite literally did not make us to do life alone. 🍂

The pumpkin patches. The hard days. The belly laughs. The “are you awake?” texts. The faith questions. The growing up. All of it is better with people beside us.

God made us for community. So this fall, be the friend you’re praying to find.

Invite her.
Include her.
Check on her.
Go first.

Because the best part of fall was never actually the pumpkin spice. It’s who you’re sharing it with.🤎

OKAY BUT ARE YOU FOLLOWING?!🎧😭 Because if Literally Magazine is where we hang out on paper, FR, Let’s Talk is where we get LOUD.

Real questions. Biblical truth. Zero pretending. The stuff you’re actually thinking about but maybe not casually announcing at youth group. 😂 Faith. Friends. Boys. Anxiety. Identity. Loneliness. Culture. The weird stuff. The hard stuff. The “wait… can Christians even ask that?” stuff.

YES. WE’RE TALKING ABOUT IT.

131 episodes are sitting there RIGHT NOW waiting for your next car ride, walk, getting-ready sesh, room-cleaning spiral, or “I’m putting my AirPods in and nobody speak to me for 37 minutes” moment.

COME FOR THE VIBE. STAY FOR THE TRUTH.

Go follow FR, Let’s Talk on Apple Podcasts + start binging. Like respectfully… you have homework! 🔥

A few days ago, I woke up to a question from a mom that I couldn’t answer quickly.

So I sat with it.

Because there comes this strange, holy, terrifying point in motherhood when everything we’ve spent years shaping, teaching, protecting, praying over and preparing begins to leave our hands.

They start walking into rooms we cannot enter. Hearing voices we cannot filter. Encountering ideas we didn’t explain first.

And suddenly motherhood feels less like holding their hands and more like opening ours.

I wrote this mom back—and somewhere along the way realized I was writing to myself too.

Because I want every word in these slides to be true of my home.

I want my girls bringing hard questions to my kitchen counter. I want to listen before I lecture. I want Scripture woven into ordinary days. I want them to see a mom who actually needs Jesus—not just one who tells *them* they need Him.

But here’s my glaring humanity:

I’m so freaking tired.

My bandwidth is tapped. My effort is gassed.

I rush. I react. I miss openings. I spend entire days doing things for my girls and realize I barely slowed down to be with them.

And rereading my own words, I kept thinking:

Lord, I believe this. I want this. Please help me actually live it.

There is a gap between the mother I desperately want to be and the woman I actually am on any given Tuesday.

And THANK GOD that gap isn’t mine alone to fill.

He fills gaps.

His faithfulness isn’t measured by my bandwidth. The Holy Spirit can reach places in my daughters my best parenting never could.

Jesus never asked me to be their Savior.

They already have One.

So to the mom who wants this kind of home but feels tired, stretched and painfully aware of all the ways she’s falling short:

Me too.

I’m praying for more stopping. More listening. More Scripture in the ordinary. More repentance. More Jesus actually lived.

We teach. We disciple. We pray our guts out. We keep showing up.

And little by little, we open our hands.

Because eventually, all this preparation becomes surrender.

Thank God the hands we surrender them into are far more capable than ours. ❤️

THURSDAY THROWBACK because apparently some of us need to hear this one AGAIN.🌹

Ever notice how the second you start growing, glowing, succeeding, speaking up, or actually feeling confident… somebody suddenly has ✨thoughts✨ about it?

Welcome to Tall Poppy Syndrome.

This episode is for the girl who’s been tempted to shrink herself just to make everybody else more comfortable.

Nope.

We’re talking jealous friends, comparison, social media, side-eyes, “jokes” that aren’t really jokes—and how to keep blooming WITHOUT becoming bitter, arrogant, or a snipper yourself.

Because biblical confidence isn’t “look how amazing I am.” It’s “look what God put in me, and I’m not going to bury it.”

Go dig up S3 E32: Tall Poppy Syndrome: How to Bloom Brightly in a World That Wants You Small. 🎧

Be the tall poppy, girl. And while you’re up there? Help somebody else grow too!!
