Many recovery residences have historically restricted medications for opioid use disorder, including buprenorphine and methadone. Residents taking these medications were more likely to remain in recovery housing and showed greater improvements in recovery capital over time. These findings challenge policies that restrict medications like buprenorphine and methadone in some recovery residences.
