🎗️💔 They Were Training For A Mission When They Both Drown.. 💔🎗️
Army Specialist Mariyah Symone Collington, 19, and 1st Lt. Kendrick Lamont Key Jr., 27, tragically lost their lives after disappearing off the coast of Morocco while participating in the African Lion 26 military training exercises. Reports say the two soldiers fell into the Atlantic Ocean during an off-duty recreational hike near the Cap Draa Training Area. After an intense multinational search involving more than 1,000 personnel, drones, helicopters, naval vessels, and divers, Kendrick’s body was first recovered along the shoreline on May 9. Days later, Mariyah’s remains were found in a coastal cave near where they entered the water. Both soldiers were assigned to the 5th Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment and were remembered by fellow soldiers as dedicated, hardworking, and full of promise. What was supposed to be a mission overseas turned into a heartbreaking tragedy that devastated their families, fellow service members, and communities.
