We had a wonderful time celebrating America’s 250th anniversary at Casper’s Parade Day!

After several years without bagpipes in the parade, we were proud to bring them back this year. Thank you to everyone who came out and cheered us on. Events like Parade Day help us introduce more and more people to the existence and mission of Wyoming for Heroes. It’s always a privilege to be part of such a great community. 🇺🇸🎶💙

We'd like to introduce our Wyoming for Heroes Advisor for Campbell County, Dr. Sara Hartsaw!

Dr. Hartsaw has been a general surgeon in Gillette since 1990. A Wyoming native raised in Cheyenne, she briefly left the state to complete her medical training. During her surgical residency in Phoenix, Arizona, she had the privilege of caring for veterans who served in World War I, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.

Proving that service knows no age limit, Dr. Hartsaw joined the United States Navy Reserve in 2013 and currently holds the rank of Captain. Her military service has included deployments to both Afghanistan and New York City.

We are grateful for her commitment to caring for others, whether that be in the operating room or in uniform. 🇺🇸❤️💙

2 years ago, Wyoming for Heroes bagpipers Audrey and Matt Mitchell had the incredible honor of spending a week in Normandy, France, for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day as members of Bagpipers of the World United. They got to play in several commemorative events, including a midnight ceremony at Pegasus Bridge, playing at the Normandy American Cemetery, and at the British Normandy Memorial.

Audrey and Matt were also invited to the official 80th Anniversary D-Day Commemoration Ceremony at the Normandy American Cemetery, attended by former President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron, and American D-Day veterans.

Today, we remember the brave men who fought and died on the beaches of Normandy. We also remember and honor the American service members currently deployed around the world, many serving far from home in defense of our nation and its values. 🇺🇸🤍
