These are my girls - all 3 are blind. Foxy on the right has to be isolated in her own pen. She’s meaner than a snake with the others and she’ll kick the crap out of anything that comes near her. But she’s fine with people! Weird girl.

Sundae (appy) is so dependent on Fiona that she panics if she doesn’t know where she is. Although Fiona is blind too, she is very mellow and has accepted her lot in life. The only time Sundae strays away from Fiona is when I pull the wheelbarrow into the pen and it has their pellets! She seems to get around real well when it comes to food - she’s like a heat-seeking ballistic missile! ❤️❤️

Colonel is my nearly 40-year old rescue. This Tennessee walker follows me around like a puppy dog - he just knows that I’m holding out on a treat and he doesn’t want to miss out. He has boundless personality but he gave us a scare a couple weeks ago when he got his leg caught in a horse panel while rolling over - but a few days of pain meds and he was back to normal. This horse is resilient! He’s probably going to outlive me!

Jasper is coming along great! Jasper is also blind but gets around wonderfully. Turns out he’s considered a “heavy shedder” so he has to be dewormed every 3-4 months. If I don’t keep him on this regiment he ends up with a very bad case of diarrhea- this was learned through trial and error and stool samples.

If you would like to donate to Jasper’s care, you can do so at:

Lucky has my biggest challenge. Lucky is blind and was found abandoned in the desert. He is the sweetest boy in the world but he has serious allergy issues.

I’m working closely with Dr Ciara from Civano Animal Hospital in Tucson on his treatment. He received a steroid injection (which helped a lot), receives doses of HistALL-H twice a day, gets frequent baths with antifungal/antibacterial shampoo and we are also starting him on Hydroxyzine HCI powder. I see small improvements every day with all this treatment - his mane and tail are starting to come back, his body hair looks less inflamed, and he seems to be more comfortable.

But all of this medical treatment is expensive! All of the items listed above are running me about $300/month. Please consider donating to Lucky’s treatment. He’s a sweetheart who does not deserve feeling crappy! I love him and will do anything for him!

Pistol has been receiving monthly Legend injections for the past 6 months (plus daily low dosages of Bute) and his severely arthritic knee has improved dramatically! The swelling has gone down and he barely has a limp! I can tell he feels so much better!

With that said, his treatment is not inexpensive! It runs me about $200/month for his injections. Please consider donating to Pistol’s treatment.
