Holidays for us are hard. please, when things settle a bit, take some time, with those society pushes aside. grab a large cup of coffee, stop a Jewish retirement community and give someone an ear. I can tell you that when you leave, you'll feel the blessings. both given and taken, 10 fold.

May Simchat Torah seal every Neshama in the Book Simcha's , Parnosa, Shalom Byis, and unity for Klal Yisrael!

Along with Tikkun Olam (repairing the world), Jewish tradition deeply emphasizes a few companion concepts that tie directly into community building, inclusion, and supporting individuals with special needs:

Areivut (Mutual Responsibility): The principle that "all Jews are responsible for one another"—meaning we look out for each other as a collective community.

Tzedek (Justice / Righteousness): Creating fairness and equity, ensuring that everyone, especially vulnerable populations, has a place and a voice.

Gemilut Chasadim (Acts of Loving-Kindness): Personal, hands-on deeds of compassion, which complement the broader societal focus of Tikkun Olam through direct, human-to-human support.

Lifnei Iver (Inclusion and Accessibility): Traditionally translated as not placing a stumbling block before the blind, this principle is modernly applied to removing barriers—ensuring full inclusion, accessibility, and dignity for people with special needs and their families.

When you combine Tikkun Olam with your mission of bringing families into your community and integrating support services, you are actively living out Areivut—taking shared responsibility for the well-being of these families and making sure no one is left behind.

Thousands of families with members who have disabilities are being locked out of making Aliyah to Israel because traditional cities don't have the housing, medical care, and support systems they need. This shouldn't be happening.

We're building the Therapeutic Living Community (TLC) at ADI Negev—a 600-acre inclusive smart city designed for residents with disabilities. It's not just housing. It's adaptive districts with medical rehab, employment opportunities, therapy programs, and real community.

TLC Negev would:
Bring 1,800 international families home to Israel with dedicated support from Day 1
Provide zero-barrier housing and 24/7 medical care
Create fair-market jobs in bakeries, restaurants, tech labs, and more

Israeli leadership can make this happen by fast-tracking land zoning, establishing a Special Needs Aliyah Relocation Desk, and approving development frameworks. No Jewish family should be left behind.

What would you want someone to do if this was your family? Please sign and share if you believe families deserve the chance to build their lives in Israel.

🇮🇱 BEFORE THE NEW YEAR, A THANK-YOU FROM MY HEART TO YOURS.

As Rosh Hashanah approaches, I want to step away from the headlines for a moment, pause with deep gratitude for the many miracles—both big and small—that have carried us through, and simply speak to you from the heart.

Whether you’ve been a part of this community for years or just joined us recently, thank you. Thank you for taking the time to read, for sharing these updates, for sending such thoughtful feedback, and above all, for trusting me to bring you the truth. I carry that trust with so much care.

To everyone who supported us financially this past year—whether a one-time gift, a recurring contribution, or monthly help—you have kept the lights on and made this work possible. I am so deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity.

Tonight, more than anything, I want to wrap you all in warmth and wish you the very best.

May 5787 bring you, your family, and your dear friends abundant health, true happiness, a steady livelihood, and quiet peace of mind.

May anyone fighting illness feel renewed strength and healing. May those carrying heavy hearts find gentle comfort, and may anyone feeling alone know they are surrounded by love. May our brave soldiers and every person defending Israel be watched over, kept safe, and returned swiftly to the arms of those who love them.

May Israel be blessed with lasting security, heartfelt unity, and deep peace. May the coming year bring us endless reasons to rejoice, fewer burdens to carry, and a steady stream of good news.

For those who would like to support the petition, please take a moment to sign and share:

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) already face extreme, disproportionate risks of violence and premature death. When you layer in antisemitism—which is rising—those risks compound in ways most people don't realize.

Here's what the data shows:

• People with cognitive disabilities experience violent crime at rates up to 7x higher than others
• An estimated 90% of individuals with I/DD will experience sexual abuse in their lifetimes—and 97-99% of the time, it's someone they know and trust (a caregiver, family member, teacher)
• Adults with intellectual disabilities die 20+ years earlier than the general population, often from preventable causes
• Over 50% of American Jews worry about personal safety; for a Jewish person with a disability navigating care facilities or public spaces, that's doubled vulnerability

This isn't just a statistics problem. It's a systems failure. When ableism and antisemitism intersect, the people who need protection most fall through the cracks.

I started a petition calling for better medical, legal, and community safeguards for disabled Jews and other marginalized disabled people. This includes pushing for more accountability in care facilities, training for staff on both disability and antisemitism, and real investment in preventative health measures.

Has anyone here experienced or witnessed this gap in protections? What would you want to see change if this was your family member? If this matters to you too, consider signing and sharing—this community deserves to be safe.

People with intellectual and developmental disabilities face violence at alarming rates. When you add being Jewish during a historic rise in antisemitism, those risks multiply in ways most of us don't see.

The data is hard to ignore: people with cognitive disabilities experience violent crime at rates up to seven times higher than others. Between 97 and 99 percent of sexual assaults against individuals with I/DD are committed by someone they know—a caregiver, family member, teacher. For someone Jewish relying on outside care, this vulnerability cuts even deeper. And the health barriers are real too: adults with intellectual disabilities die decades younger than their peers, often from causes that should be preventable.

This intersection of disability and antisemitism isn't getting the attention it deserves. Families and individuals navigating public spaces or care facilities shouldn't have to carry twice the fear. I'm signing a petition to raise awareness and push for better medical, legal, and community safeguards. Would love to hear if this resonates with you—or if you've seen how these gaps in protection affect people you care about.

🚨 The Dangerous Intersection: I/DD, Antisemitism, and the Vulnerability Crisis 🚨 Did you know that individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) face extreme, disproportionate risks of violence and premature death? When you add the intersection of minority identities—such as being Jewish during a historic rise in antisemitism—those risks compound in deeply alarming ways. According to community studies, Jewish individuals with multiple marginalized identities, including those with disabilities, are disproportionately impacted by violence, harassment, and discrimination.

✨ WHAT IF ALIYAH COULD MEAN MORE THAN MOVING TO ISRAEL?
What if it meant finally finding a community where your entire family belongs?
For families living with I/DD, Aliyah raises profound questions:
Will there be a place for my child?
Will we be accepted?
Will my child have friends, purpose, work, and community?
What happens when we are no longer here to advocate for them?
These aren't small questions. They can determine whether a family feels able to make Aliyah at all.
Perhaps the answer isn't simply more services.
Perhaps we need to rethink community itself.
That's the vision behind TLC — Therapeutic Living CommUnity.
A Torah-rooted community where the entire family belongs.
Where people with I/DD are seen not simply through a diagnosis, but through their gifts, purpose, dignity, relationships, and Divine design.
Where parents aren't expected to carry everything alone.
Where siblings aren't defined by responsibility.
Where neighbors become friends, friends become community, and community becomes family.
RE’EH — SEE.
“See, I place before you today a blessing and a curse.”
— Devarim 11:26
See beyond the label.
See the soul.
See the potential.
See the contribution.
See the light.
And instead of asking:
“How do we fit this person into the community?”
Ask:
“How do we build a community designed with them in mind?”
That's the potential of TLC.
❤️ Families belong — together.
🌱 People with I/DD build meaningful lives.
🤝 Neighbors become community.
🕯️ Hidden gifts and hidden light are recognized.
🇮🇱 Aliyah becomes not just a move, but an opportunity to build a new kind of Torah community.
And perhaps most importantly, parents can imagine a future beyond themselves.
A future where their son or daughter is known, loved, expected, and missed.
Where someone says:
“Where have you been? We were waiting
