Our hearts are truly overwhelmed with joy after the opportunity to celebrate Easter with the amazing residents at Avir at Carthage. 🐣🌸

From a fun-filled Easter egg hunt to sharing baskets full of delicious treats, every moment was special. We even enjoyed a challenging game of bingo that brought plenty of laughter and ended with some wonderful prizes! 😃🎉

Most importantly, it was the smiles, conversations, and connections that made this day unforgettable.

We want to give a heartfelt THANK YOU to all of our incredible volunteers who showed up with love and compassion to make this event such a success. Because of you, we were able to bring joy and brighten the day for so many residents.

We are incredibly grateful to Gary ISD for allowing us the opportunity to serve alongside such a caring community. Supporting students is at the heart of everything we do, and helping with lunch accounts means more than just meals — it means dignity, encouragement, and one less worry for families and children who deserve every chance to succeed.

This effort was only possible because of the many generous donors, volunteers, and supporters who believe in our mission. When a community comes together, real change happens, and today is a beautiful reminder of what compassion in action looks like.

To the students and families of Gary ISD — please know this came from a place of love. And to everyone who gave, shared, or supported this effort, thank you for proving once again that East Texas takes care of its own.

Good morning ☀️ to the wonderful and caring people of Panola County!

We Care East Texas and Be A Light Rehabilitation Services would like to thank each and every one of you for the kind words, support, and donations yesterday. Because of you, we were able to provide around 20 hot meals to our elders at the Senior Citizens Apartments. ❤️

Yesterday, we asked the public what they needed most right now—outside of electricity—and the answer was simple: a hot meal.

Well, I’m excited to say… we’re making it happen again today! 🙌🏾

🔥 Ratley's Wild Game Processing LLC has stepped up and will be partnering with We Care East Texas to provide some soothing chili, rice, and beans with smoked sausage for the soul.
🍗 And Corey Holland with Circe H BBQ will also be cooking chicken, completely free of charge for the public.

If you, your family, a neighbor, or someone you know is in need of a warm meal today, please reach out and let us know. Let’s continue coming together to take care of our community.

💙💚💛❤️ We Care East Texas and Be A Light Rehabilitation Services have been working extremely hard to make sure individuals across Panola County have what they need during this cold weather. We’ve visited senior citizen apartments, hotels/motels, and have been responding to calls for people needing assistance. We’ve been blessed to provide blankets, help with food, and make sure everyone stays safe, warm, and cared for.

We’ve also seen the posts about some of the individuals at the Senior Citizens Apartments, and I’ve personally spoken with most of them. Many do not want to relocate to the Civic Center for different reasons—some have pets and don’t want to leave them, some prefer the comfort of their own home, and others simply needed a way to charge their phones.

One thing that broke our hearts is hearing several of our elders say they haven’t eaten all day. 🥺
So we’re going to do our best to gather food and get it to them as soon as possible.

If you would like to donate or help support this mission, we would truly appreciate it. Every dollar and every act of kindness helps.

✅ Update: All food has been delivered — from one side of Panola County to the other! 😃

But we’re not done yet 🙌🏾

We’ve received several calls about the Carthage Civic Center serving as a warming center for those who need a safe place to stay warm. If you know someone who could benefit as this colder weather moves in, please let us know.

We also have transportation available and can help get individuals there safely and into a warm place.

Please find it in your heart to share this post so we can come together as a community and make sure no one in Panola County is left out in the cold. ❤️

We Care East Texas has delivered food to 13 families today across Panola County. 💙
Many of these individuals are elderly, unable to travel in this dangerous weather, or currently staying in a motel with children and needed help right away.

We still have about 5 bags of food available to give to families in need. We want to move quickly because nightfall is approaching and temperatures are continuing to drop.

If you know someone who needs food tonight, please message us immediately and let us know their location.

💙💚 We Care East Texas Update 💚💙

Thank you to everyone who has reached out about our organization as we continue to grow. We are truly grateful for the love, support, and the many people who have shown interest in volunteering and helping support the mission of We Care East Texas.

This week alone, we have had several parents from Gary ISD reach out to let us know their children currently have a negative lunch balance. Gary ISD has done an excellent job of ensuring every child still receives a well-balanced meal, and we truly appreciate their continued dedication to their students.

However, many of these families still need the support of the community to help bring those lunch balances back to zero. If you are able, would you consider donating to help us cover these lunch accounts?

On January 8, 2026, We Care East Texas became aware of a serious issue affecting children in Panola County. A post shared by RattleTale Media Group reported that some students were unable to eat a well balanced lunch at school due to negative account balances.

Without hesitation, our founder stepped in to help address the situation. He personally donated more than $1,246 to bring over 200 students’ lunch accounts back into a positive balance. This is the kind of compassion and action our community needs, and it reflects the mission and values of We Care East Texas.

We would like to extend a sincere thank you to Rattletale Media Group for bringing this issue to light and for publicly acknowledging our organization on their page. Their support helped us reach new followers and further spread awareness of our work. The staff at We Care East Texas truly appreciates everything you have done.
