Today, we remember the lives lost on October 1, 2017, and honor the survivors, families, first responders, law enforcement officers, medical personnel, and community members forever impacted by that night.

Nine years later, we continue to remember the strength, courage, and compassion shown in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

Our hearts remain with all those who carry October 1 with them every day.

Today, the Nevada Police Foundation joins our nation in remembering the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honoring the extraordinary courage of the first responders who ran toward danger when others were fleeing.

We remember the law enforcement officers, firefighters, emergency personnel, service members, and everyday Americans whose bravery and selflessness defined that day. We honor all who have continued to serve and sacrifice in the years since.

May we never forget those we lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the unity that brought our nation together.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸💙

The Nevada Police Foundation extends our deepest condolences to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and to the family, friends, and loved ones of Officer Austin Abdelnabi.

Officer Abdelnabi proudly served both his country as a United States Marine Corps veteran and his community as a Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Officer.

On August 4, 2026, Officer Abdelnabi made the ultimate sacrifice while responding to a call to protect his community.

We join the law enforcement community across Nevada in honoring his life, his service, and his sacrifice. May his legacy live on through those who continue to wear the badge, and may his family, friends, and fellow officers find strength and comfort in the days ahead.

Rest easy, Officer Austin Abdelnabi. We will never forget your service and sacrifice. 💙🖤
