🏆 Community Spirit Cup Winners! 🏆

We couldn’t be more proud to bring home the overall Community Spirit Cup from this year’s Sertoma People’s Parade!

The Carroll County Bicentennial float won 1st Place in the Large Business, Small Business, Church, and Civic categories!

A huge thank you to our Carroll County Public Works Department, whose creativity, countless hours of hard work, and attention to detail made this award-winning float possible. The judges especially loved the ringing bell, which added the perfect touch of community spirit.

This award belongs to everyone who helped showcase the very best of Carroll County. 🇺🇸🏆

Every parade has a Grand Marshal, but some individuals embody the very spirit of the celebration!

This year, as Carroll County celebrated 200 years and America marked its 250th birthday, we were privileged to honor a man whose lifetime of service reflects the values our nation was founded upon.

Meet our 2026 Carrollton People's Parade Grand Marshal, Donald L. Levans.

Donald L. Levans is a U.S. Air Force veteran, community leader, and lifelong servant to others. He served from 1950 to 1954, including 18 months with Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe, where he provided security for the Commanding General of Allied Air Forces Central Europe.

A graduate of West Georgia College and Georgia State University, Mr. Levans enjoyed a distinguished 37-year career with Sears Roebuck and Co., including 22 years at the Sears Tower in Chicago.

Mr. Levans has dedicated himself to serving fellow veterans as Commander of American Legion Post 143, President of the Carroll County Veterans Memorial Park, and an active supporter of the West Georgia Military Museum and Education Center.

He was also instrumental in the development of the Carroll County First Responders Memorial, helping ensure the service and sacrifice of first responders are permanently honored.

Mr. Levans proudly carries a family legacy of military service dating back to the Civil War, and his lifelong commitment to service continues to make a lasting impact on our community.

We were honored to recognize Donald L. Levans as Grand Marshal during this historic year.
