We’re thinking of all the families carrying loss with them this weekend. Memorial Day weekend and this time of year can bring a lot of mixed emotions. Longer days, graduations, lake trips, fishing, bonfires, and summer memories can also remind us of the people we wish were here to experience them with us. This time of year hits us really hard with the farm. Kelton really left his touch everywhere.
As we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to our country this weekend, we also want to gently remind anyone struggling that it’s okay if this season feels heavy sometimes. Grief doesn’t follow a calendar, and healing doesn’t happen in a straight line.

Mental Health Reminder: Practicing gratitude can help keep balance in check. We often remember negatives and lose sight of the positives, especially when stressed or facing big changes. One simple thing you can do is write down something you’re grateful for each day. It doesn't have to be big. Sometimes it’s as simple as sunshine or fresh air. Gratitude doesn’t erase stress or grief, but it can help ground us and shift our focus, even for a moment.

💚 Wear Green Day
🗓️ Thursday, May 14
🟢Green is the national color for mental health awareness. Encourage students and staff to wear green to show support for strong minds and healthy habits.

05/11/2026

Tonight at 5:15 PM, the Carroll City Council opening moments will include a proclamation on mental health awareness 💚 We’re grateful to see conversations around mental health continuing to happen in our communities. Awareness matters. Support matters. Showing people they are seen, heard, and valued matters.

It was amazing to see everyone who showed up and supported the SARH walk. So many people came together for such an important cause and the organizers put so much time and energy into this event! A special thank you to the CHS band (and one of our favorite clarinet players!) for sending walkers off and welcoming them back, and to those who chalked encouragement along the route. You all make a difference.
