Our awesome Cal Poly Sigma Kappa Epsilon sorority and national Walk Team for the SLO Walk kicked off their campaign with their annual Ice Cream Social! Under the leadership of this year’s VP of Philanthropy Kate Mills and Kenzie Glenn, the chapter has set an ambitious goal of raising $80,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association.

Last year the Sigma Kappa’s were the #4 fundraising chapter in the nation for WTEA raising over $76k with about 200 sisters participating. Thank you to Community Engagement Chair Christina Bocock and Committee Member Tom Payne along with ALZ Staff Laura DeLoye and Tamra Mariott for helping serve at the Social. Go Sigma Kappas!!

We had an awesome SLO Walk “Tuesday Kick Off” on Cinco de Mayo at Central Coast Brewing at ThE HUB! Nearly 80 people attended this fun and festive event in the cool vibe of The Hub, where sponsors and teams enjoyed mingling with drinks and eating street tacos. Under the leadership of Walk Co-Chairs Bryan Reugebrink and Michelle Gaughan, the program included exciting updates about the SLO Walk and ALZ programs along with personal stories. There was an amazing drawing for prizes provided by many sponsors and committee members.

Register today for the SLO Walk at ALZ.org/SLOWalk. Special thanks to Community Engagement Chair Christina Bocock and Event Experience Chair Kyle Petersen along with the Walk Committee for their help promoting this successful event!
