Marine Safety Information Bulletin - New York Sail 4th 250
The New Jersey State Police advises the boating public of heightened maritime activity associated with New York Sail 4th 250, the International Naval Review 250, the International Aerial Review, and July 4th fireworks events taking place across New York Harbor from July 1–9, 2026.
Significant maritime restrictions will be in effect throughout New York Harbor, Sandy Hook Bay, the Hudson River, and the East River. Boaters should expect security zones around tall ships and naval vessels, regulated transit areas, temporary anchorage closures, and increased patrols by the U.S. Coast Guard and partner agencies.
Mariners are urged to assess vessel readiness, operator experience, weather conditions, and voyage plans prior to departure. Spectator areas are available on a first-come, first-served basis; advance registration is encouraged but does not guarantee entry.
Report suspicious activity to the National Response Center at 1-877-24WATCH. In emergencies, call 911 or hail authorities on VHF Channel 16.
For the latest Marine Safety Information Bulletins and navigation updates, visit the U.S. Coast Guard Navigation Center and review Local Notices to Mariners and Special Notices.
Stay informed, monitor VHF Channel 16, and comply with all U.S. Coast Guard regulations to help ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration on the water.
