Lea County had their first annual Play Day this past weekend. This event was organized by parents Shilah Barnes and Karen Owens. Students and their families gathered for a fun-filled day of field day games and also enjoyed a visit from the City of Hobbs Fire Department to cool off. It was truly one of the best days ever and we hope everyone had a great time.
A huge thank you to every single parent that contributed towards the success of the event. From contributing food items towards lunches, helping put together and lead the events, to assisting in set-up and clean-up. This group really came together for the kids! We can't wait for next year's Play Day!

It's never too early to join the Homeschool Hub for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year! Your student will always have opportunities to have fun and make memories during their homeschooling!

Our final activity for the spring semester was a private workshop by Inspired by Science. They were one of our sponsors for our science fair and our first prize winner received a free registration to their science camp which registration opens today!
This activity was sponsored by SIMCO and VELA.
The kids had a blast making slime, ball launchers and elephant toothpaste!

Eddy County’s final month of hands on history has been fun. The students learned about the world wars in April. This is our first year long class that the Hub has facilitated and it’s been a favorite among the students and waitlisted all year long. It was fun to watch the students experience American history in an immersive way. We are considering bringing this class back for the fall semester but with New Mexico State history. We will be looking for a sponsor for that if anyone would like to fund a class that brings history alive to students.

Crazy 8s Math Club finished their last meeting for the spring semester this week. This class was funded by SIMCO this spring semester. This week the students learned decoding.
They used addition and subtraction to decode a puzzle and each group got a letter. The letters made a number. They did this 3 times to unlock the bag that had magnifying glasses in it.
