Carlisle Cultural Council We provide funding for local cultural programs and also produce cultural programs in Carlisle MA

The Carlisle Cultural Council (CCC) promotes the arts, music, history, culture and the humanities in our community. We serve our community by supporting and producing both participatory and audience-based cultural and arts activities. The Carlisle Cultural Council is currently a 7-member appointed group of Carlisle residents who support local cultural initiatives, primarily through an annual grant

award process established by the Massachusetts Cultural Council. These grants provide funds to deserving organizations and individuals offering a variety of cultural experiences to the residents of Carlisle. The Council also produces its own programs and can independently fund local programs outside of the state grant process. The Carlisle Cultural Council is part of the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s Local Cultural Council (LCC) Program. Each year, LCCs award more than $3 million in grants to more than 6,000 cultural programs statewide.

Kicking off the main stage at the 2026 Carlisle Music Festival on 6/21 at 12pm are the Soul Soothers!

The Soul Soothers were born after father and son Lee and Caleb Perlman realized that the vibe they created in their casual jamming should be shared with audiences. Forming a band with other local musicians, the group first appeared at the 2024 Carlisle Music Festival, and they’re making their third consecutive appearance today. From their starting point of classic soul sounds, their repertoire has firmly embraced the 21st century, without losing contact with the early titans.

Lee Perlman, (guitar/vocals), Caleb Perlman (keys/percussion/vocals), Mark Levitan (harmonica), Chris Brenne (guitar), Gabe Weiss (bass), Jon Golden (drums).

The Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra will take the main stage at the Carlisle Music Festival on 6/21 at 4:45 pm. This group is not to be missed. Wear your dancing shoes!

What has 20 legs, 6 vocal mics, 22 years of history, and a reputation for nailing “Bohemian Rhapsody” note for note? The Ultrasonic Rock Orchestra (URO): a ten-member classic rock powerhouse that means business.

The URO’s mission is to perform legendary songs powerfully, faithfully, and with unapologetic passion. Fronted by a team of powerhouse vocalists delivering rich multipart harmonies, and supported by an A-list of extraordinary instrumentalists, the group never chooses the easy path – rather, the iconic one.

In 2025, following a brief group sabbatical, vocalist Maria Mae Hamilton (founder Sal Clemente’s daughter) led the charge to bring the URO roaring back to life. Their triumphant return has reminded their loyal community that they were not only back but stronger than ever. Contact: [email protected]

You, Me, Her & That Guy will kick off the midfield tent music at the Carlisle Music Festival this year on Sunday, 6/21 at 12:45.

You, Me, Her & That Guy are four friends who met in music classes and local jams. They had such a good time that they pinky swore to keep playing and learning together. Much of the acoustic string band, Americana, and bluegrass music they love is old, or inspired by the good old stuff. “We just want to folks to hear it the way it may have sounded on front porches played by aunts and neighbors: live and (usually) unplugged.” Nearly everyone will recognize some of the band’s repertoire and there are some newer songs they want to introduce you to.
