What does Voices for Vista mean to you? 💙
We asked our staff, volunteers, and community partners this simple question—and their answers remind us why this work matters so much.

From expanding access to vision care, to empowering independence, to changing lives—our team is united by a shared purpose: ensuring individuals who are blind and visually impaired never feel alone or unseen.

This is what Voices for Vista is all about. It’s about lifting up the stories, the dreams, and the resilience of our community. It’s about making sure everyone has a voice—and that we listen.
Help us reach our fundraising goal and continue this mission. Every donation powers low vision evaluations, rehabilitation services, and adaptive technology that transform lives.

Upcoming Community Workshop: “Guiding with Safety and Compassion”

Want to help someone who is blind or visually impaired - but not sure how? You’re not alone. Many well-intentioned people want to assist, yet lack the knowledge to do so safely and respectfully. This hands-on workshop gives you the confidence and skills to offer support that truly empowers.

Why it matters: By learning Human Guide Techniques, you can help create a community where people with vision loss feel safer, respected, and more independent - and where assistance is offered with confidence, dignity, and care.

Our next workshop is Monday, June 15th - we hope to see you there! Visit the link in our bio to learn more and sign up - spaces are limited!

What a night! ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Voices for Vista and helped make this year’s celebration so meaningful. Together, we raised critical support for our neighbors and friends experiencing vision loss and reaffirmed the power of community, connection, and inclusion.

Your generosity helps ensure that people who are blind or have low vision can access the programs, services, and opportunities they need to live independently and thrive 💪

To our sponsors, donors, volunteers, partners, and guests: thank you for believing in Vista Center’s mission and for showing up in such a big way. We are grateful for each and every one of you! 💙

Congratulations to Emerson on her graduation! 🎓💙

Emerson is an inspiring self-advocate, dedicated student, and a powerful voice in the blind and low vision community. Alongside her guide dog, Izzy, she continues to lead with independence, determination, and heart in everything she does.

She will continue her studies at San Jose City College before transferring to San Jose State University to pursue her dream of becoming a disability rights lawyer.

We are so proud of all Emerson has accomplished and can’t wait to see the incredible impact she will continue to make. Congratulations, Emerson and Izzy! 🐾✨

You see: a bright homepage with a bold SALE banner, vibrant product photos, and colorful call-to-action buttons.

A screen reader user hears: “Image. Image. Button. Link. Image. Sale. Image.”

That’s the gap. And it’s not a small one.

For the 2.2 billion people worldwide living with vision impairment, inaccessible websites aren’t just frustrating — they’re exclusionary. Alt text, color contrast, and proper structure aren’t design bonuses.

They’re the difference between being included and being left out.

We believe the web should work for everyone. 💙

What’s the most frustrating accessibility barrier you’ve encountered online?
