Beyond the Badge We understand the unique stressors that come with being a loved one of a first responder and we are in this together.

Beyond The Badge is a 501(c) (3) organization that provides support, encouragement, and resources to spouses, significant others, and loved ones of local first responders. We move and get involved as our first responders and the

ir families need. There are many ways we can make an impact such as, provide support/resources to new first responder families, Co-sponsor the Shield of Armor Wellness Conference, host fundraisers and fun social events, volunteer for community events, and offer peer support. We want to be able to support our own in times of need. So we plan on establishing a reserve fund which will allow us to provide financial assistance to first responders and their families in time of need, such as, job related injuries, medical emergences or other unexpected emergencies.

Registration is open for the Shield of Armor Wellness Conference hosted by the Cape Girardeau Police Department and Beyond the Badge. This seminar is open to all first responders and their families and is focused on wellness, resilience, and support that lasts beyond the job.

Good Job!!!!!!!!!!

Our department responded to a medical emergency early this morning that became critical in a short timeframe. The patient's respiratory distress call escalated to respiratory failure and cardiac arrest immediately after our arrival.

Our crew rapidly initiated CPR and provided advanced care before CCPA personnel arrived. In conjunction with CCPA, our team continued care and prepared the patient for transportation, sending a member with the CCPA crew.

We are happy to announce that the patient had a pulse during transport and on hospital arrival and wish the patient a full recovery.

ALS medical equipped Engine 3631 went to pick up our member from the local hospital.

This makes the 12th incident our department has responded to over the past 7 days.
