🦋💜 GRIEF AFTER VIOLENCE 💜🦋
When someone we love is taken through violence, grief feels different.
There was no time to prepare. No proper goodbye. One moment they were here, and suddenly life became divided into before and after.
Grief after violence carries more than sadness. It can carry questions, anger, confusion, memories, and the painful reality of learning how to live in a world where someone we love is no longer physically present.
Some days, we may smile. 🦋
Some days, we may cry.
Some days, simply getting through the day is enough.
There is no perfect timeline for grief.
At Kayla’s House, the butterfly 🦋 reminds us that even through the deepest pain, transformation is possible.
Healing does not mean forgetting. It does not mean we stop missing them or that their story no longer matters.
Healing can mean learning how to carry their love forward.
🦋 We speak their names.
🦋 We honor their lives.
🦋 We allow ourselves to grieve.
🦋 And when we are ready, we turn some of that pain into purpose.
For every family grieving a loved one lost to violence: you do not have to walk this journey alone.
Like a butterfly, healing takes time. And even after unimaginable loss, love can continue to grow, transform, and leave something beautiful behind. 🦋
If you are grieving someone you love because of violence, we want you to know there is a place for your story. Reach out to Kayla’s House, share their name. 💜🦋
