Another heat advisory day in the canyon 🌡️

As a reminder, the following trails will be closed from 11am–5pm today (3/26):
• Lighthouse
• GSL
• Rock Garden
• Upper & Lower Comanche

Looking to still get out and explore? We highly recommend checking out some of our more shaded trails—Kiowa is a favorite for a reason.

Catch a glimpse of the river, hike alongside 250-million-year-old gypsum-striped soil, and maybe even spot some of the wildlife that call the canyon home!

These classes were created for educational purposes in hopes that participants will enter their photographs in the Partners in Palo Duro Canyon Foundation Photography Contest, which will be held April 2026. There is a community of photographers in our area with vast knowledge and years of photographic experience who are more than willing to share with future photographers.

In the spirit of our mission statement, to support the conversation of Palo Duro Canyon State Park resources, to enhance the visitor experience and to provide education and outdoor recreational opportunities.

Come learn about photography and what Palo Duro Canyon State Park has to offer.
