🍪❤️ Today is our annual Not Alone: a ministry of HOPE fundraiser!

Come enjoy our bake sale, enter the raffle, and take a chance on the 50/50! Every purchase helps us share the love of Jesus this Christmas. 🎄

All proceeds will go toward Christmas gifts for residents of the nursing homes we visit, our SARTA Christmas Eve outreach, and veterans at the homeless shelter.

❄️ WINTER OUTREACH NEEDS ❄️

Winter and colder temperatures will be here before we know it, and we are preparing now to help our homeless friends through the difficult months ahead. ❤️

For many of the precious people we serve, winter means sleeping outside on cold, hard, and sometimes wet concrete. Something as simple as a warm pair of socks, a hat, or hand warmers can make a difference.

We are currently collecting:

🧦 Thermal socks
🧤 Hats & hand warmers
🛌 Emergency blankets
🌧️ Rain ponchos
💋 Lip balm
🍔 McDonald’s & Wendy’s gift cards

The gift cards are especially helpful because they give someone an opportunity to get out of the cold for a little while and enjoy something warm to eat or drink.

❤️ HOPE FENCE DONATIONS

We are also accepting coats, hats, scarves, gloves, sweaters, and other warm clothing for our HOPE Fence at Canton Towers.

Each item is protected from the weather and placed on the fence outside our building, where it is FREE for anyone who needs it—no questions asked.

Last year, more than 300 warm clothing items were given through the HOPE Fence! 🙌

Every coat, every pair of gloves, every gift card and every donation is an opportunity to remind someone:

💔 On Wednesday, one of my closest friends entered the gates of Heaven.

Barb was a Marine, and she carried the strength, loyalty, and heart of service that came with that throughout her life.

She was also my traveling buddy. ❤️ We would roll through Dollar Tree and Walgreens looking for deals and supplies for the ministry—and somehow, the trip home almost always included a stop at Wendy’s. 🙂 We spent many summer days together enjoying events downtown.

But some of my favorite memories will always be serving alongside her.

Barb had such a heart for outreach. The two of us would hit the streets with HOPE Bags and bottles of water in the summer, and hot chocolate when the weather turned cold. She didn’t just believe in the mission of Not Alone: a ministry of HOPE—she lived it.

Barb was also one of our biggest financial supporters. She believed deeply in our mission and vision and was always looking for another way to help. She was wonderful with numbers, so when I needed help with a budget or figuring something out, Barb was one of my first calls.

These last couple of months, Barb was living at Hanover House. When our team came to help with bingo and spend time with the residents, there she was—wearing her ministry T-shirt and still helping with the activities. ❤️ Even while she was the one being cared for, she was still looking for ways to serve others.

That was Barb.

A trusted and loyal friend. A Marine. A supporter. A volunteer. A servant with a heart for people.

I’m going to miss our outings, our Wendy’s stops, our conversations, and most of all, my friend.

Thank you, Barb, for believing in me, believing in this ministry, and helping us bring HOPE to so many people.

Our team had a meeting the other day, and as I looked around at each person, my heart was so touched. ❤️

In past years, I’ve usually decided where we would do our Christmas outreaches—which nursing homes we would visit, where we would go, and how much we could take on.

This year, I did something different.

I left it up to our team.

I didn’t want to overschedule anyone or place an extra burden on them during the holidays. I gave them the options and let them decide what they felt we could do together.

This precious team chose SIX Christmas outreaches in December! ❤️🎄

They chose:
❤️ 3 nursing homes
❤️ 2 low-income apartment buildings
❤️ Our Christmas Eve outreach at SARTA

As I sat there listening to them plan each outreach, I was overwhelmed with thankfulness and joy.

Most of our team members are in their 60s and 70s, and several have mobility challenges of their own. But that isn’t stopping them from showing up and being a blessing to someone else. That is what LOVE GOD…LOVE PEOPLE looks like. ❤️

This Christmas, our goal is to bless 1,350 people with gifts and distribute 2,500 Christmas cards throughout Stark County, Cleveland, and wherever else the Lord leads us.

Please pray for our volunteers—for strength, health, energy, and provision. And most importantly, pray for every precious person we will meet. Pray that through a simple gift, a Christmas card, a smile, a conversation, or a prayer, they will feel seen, valued, and loved.

Here’s a cool story about God’s timing ❤️

A few months ago, I was at the TLC store when an employee asked if I knew anyone who needed a scooter. She connected me with a gentleman who blesses people by giving away wheelchairs and scooters. Ted picked one up, and we were able to gift it to someone who truly needed it and is enjoying it today. ❤️

Last week, that same gentleman contacted me again. He had more wheelchairs available. Honestly, I put the thought on the back burner.

But God already knew where one needed to go. 🙏

At my orthopedic appointment, I started chatting with the receptionist. Four months earlier, she had mentioned that she was looking for wheelchairs for family members.

Suddenly I realized—I have a wheelchair available RIGHT NOW!

I don’t think she believed me. 😂

While sitting in the waiting room, I contacted the gentleman to make sure the wheelchair was still available. Then I called Ted to see if he could pick it up and deliver it.

After my appointment, I went back to the receptionist and said, “Give me your address. We can have a wheelchair delivered to you in about two hours.”

She was speechless! She kept asking if I was joking. 😃

Plans didn’t work out for that evening, so the next night she came and picked it up.

Think about that timing. Months earlier, she casually mentioned needing a wheelchair. Last week, a gentleman contacted me with one available. Then God placed me right back in front of the person who needed it.

God had already connected all the pieces before any of us could see the whole picture. ❤️

I love watching Him work through simple conversations, unexpected connections, and perfect timing.

God orchestrated the entire thing. He is SO cool! 🙌❤️
